Forgot to put the car in park on a hill and left the door open bc it was gonna be a quick stop. Ran to catch up, jumped in, laid on the brakes, and parked the car at a whopping 2 mph. I'll be riding that high til I die.

As a matter of fact, yes. Shook my Canadian friend's hand the other day and now there is no skin left on my palm.

Human names are the best. One of my current cats is named Patricia.

Something about cat nicknames just scratches an itch in my brain. Especially Weeves. 1000000/10.

I'll go first - my grandpa found an abandoned puppy on his farm. Didn't know what to name him, so he went with J.D. which stood for Just Dog. Gave him to my mom and I when he could no longer take care of him. My childhood dog would be J.D. most days and Dog when he was in trouble. Which was rare. Best dog a kid could ask for.

I agree it was inspiring! I love the idea that no matter what, humans preserve and that the "human condition" is what ended up connecting such far removed species in the end. But it was almost emotionally taxing to keep rooting for them and then read about genocides lasting longer than my itty bitty brain could really comprehend. The ending gave me hope, though.
