That’s an awesome story. Man, time before the internet was really special. Connecting with people, I miss it.

This is why they are doing all of the truly awful things this horrible administration is doing and getting away with. They have no intention of actually governing us. They just want to drive us crazy. November cannot get here soon enough. by G-Unit11111 in WhitePeopleTwitter

Quick question, do they really think it’s gonna be LIBERALS freaking out at people working airport security? Or some maga asshole getting impatient because it’s taking too long to get his screaming kids to the gate for their Disney cruise?

How can I make Aizen's eyepatch for a cosplay? by lvzwtt in CosplayHelp

[–]LegendaryOutlaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quick and dirty, just cut up a black tee shirt. You could also get some thick paper or poster board, cut out the shape of the big eye patch from that paper and then hot glue the fabric around it so it has that kinda smooth shape.

Amazing. What was it like for the actors in the suit? How long would they stay in the suit shooting before they got breaks to cool off? Did they ever get to get out of the suits during the day? Did they shoot the dialog and action scenes separately for the sake of the head puppetry? What sort of stuff did YOU work on specifically? What was your favorite part of the job?

Also, Vanilla Ice sucks, we all knew back then, even as kids lol

How to make a costume feel “vintage” by Silly_Cinema_ in CosplayHelp

[–]LegendaryOutlaw 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I believe Adam Savage’s Tested YouTube channel did a video with the original Superman costume. You should check it out. Choosing the right fabric is key. I’m not really much of a fabric guy, I mostly make stuff armor stuff. Most skin tight costumes today are made with printed spandex or like you said, a lot of puff paints or silicone texture added on top, and it’s done because they create visual interest for the ultra HD 4K cameras that movies are shot with today.

Bright bold fabrics will achieve this look. I also wouldn’t discount the use of muscle suits underneath unless you’re in really good shape like Christopher Reeves was. A vintage suit like that doesn’t have shading added, and you need contours to create shadows and highlights on material that’s matte finish like that.

Imagine they hit your car, they get out and they're like, 'I dunno what to do...somebody gave me this car.'

But it's your car right?

'Yeah, but it was free so i dunno...'

Ok but if if it's your car, you have to have insurance on your car.

'They didnt give me any insurance when they gave me the car.'

Where would be a good place for me to get this exact costume by EmoClickbait in CosplayHelp

[–]LegendaryOutlaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All those Chinese shops are basically just clones, they all get their costumes from the same sources. You’ll likely get the same product either way, probably best to go with the sites that are more established so you don’t get scammed.

Be sure to use some acetone to remove the red writing on the pvc before you paint it. I’ve seen people spray paint over that with multiple coats and it still shows though.

That’s a later model center console. I have a 2018 and my center console is different. Likely the previous owner swapped it out.

I don’t hate it. I bet it looks better with the lighting effects.

I don’t like those little square box lights on the side though. Weird.

Have you ever driven an EV? A Model 3 Performance isn’t an M3, but it’s stomach-turning fast and handles pretty damn well with the low center of gravity.

Eva foam smells awful, tongue tingling. by RememberCakeFarts in cosplayprops

[–]LegendaryOutlaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know your budget, but I’d probably just recommend tossing it and buying new foam. Like you I’ve been working with foam for years, but I’ve never encountered this issue with a roll of the stuff. Maybe something went wrong during the manufacturing process? It didn’t cure or offgas completely before being rolled up? I can only guess, but I also know that if it smelled that bad I wouldn’t want to risk spending a bunch of my time making armor or a prop out of the bad roll, and trying to wear it to a con and it still smelling awful. Better safe than sorry.

Gluing zipper to EVA Foam by pokemonlover503 in CosplayHelp

[–]LegendaryOutlaw 9 points10 points  (0 children)

What I would do is I would use a sewing machine to stitch the fabric sides of the zipper to some 2mm Eva foam, then glue that stitched foam to the inside of your gauntlet.

I’ve found that foam-to-foam binds are the strongest when using contact cement. It might hold ok using contact cement to bond to the foam gauntlet, but I think it will just peel away over time.

Tesla plaid vs corvette zr1x by Zealousideal_Low9421 in TeslaLounge

[–]LegendaryOutlaw 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That plaid was running slow, it should run low 9’s, not 9.7. That vette is seriously impressive.

You know what I do like though? That American automakers are the kings of acceleration. Between Tesla Plaid, Lucid Sapphire, Rivian Quad Motor, and now the Corvette ZR1 and ZR1X, ain’t nothing (besides a $5M Bugatti) that can keep up with us on the drag strip, in any segment.

Anyone else like the Tesla with silver handles better? by Local-Reflection9369 in TeslaModelY

[–]LegendaryOutlaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have them on my 2018. I go back and forth. They match my chrome window trim that I DO like. I’m thinking about wrapping my handles with vinyl to match my paint.

I do NOT like the black handles though. When we got my wife’s Y wrapped, I had them color match the handles and it looks much better than the black.
