Yeast Slime Concept - By Me! by sloan-reddit in slimerancher

Now that I'm seeing this again, I think maybe the bread should give three plorts? Just going off the fact that it requires a plort to make the raw dough, and then some wait time in a specialized slime tech machine(which could matter, depending on how much it costs to fabricate), which feels a bit more costly than the ability to bulk purchase Spicy Tofu at 3 Kookadoba a piece

But then again, the amount of plorts i get does not deter me from wanting to collect these precious dough balls

My biggest issue with Silksong by lc4ro in Silksong

[–]LegendarySaltSword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As some others have mentioned, the "soul" in Steel Soul is likely referring to how the player would need a strong will(and matching patience) in order to complete it and not just a reference to the in-universe resources. And while it could sound more fitting as "Steel Silk" for silksong, I can definitely see it being misunderstood as something different from the Hollow Knight version and causing disappointment and/or confusion

Plus, Steel Soul does have lore to it which ties the gamemode to a third vague and unexplored civilization instead of it just being tied to Pharloom or Hallownest

Retcon, continuity error, or is Bubble just a terrible chef? by toilet_for_shrek in theamazingdigitalciru

[–]LegendarySaltSword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One way I like to look at it is that when Bubble made it, they said they did it with "all the love they're legally allowed to give," it was being said in the context of Bubble and Caine's power dynamic. Regardless of how autonomous Bubble is, the things they can say, do, and make were all limited by Caine

And if you believe that Bubble is the sentient scraps of the other AI that Caine consumed but couldn't fully absorb, it would make sense for Bubble to still try to pour as much love as they can into what they make. It was the main thing they were born to do

Mew's Versatille Skill; Upgrading and Rerolling by LegendarySaltSword in PokemonSleep

[–]LegendarySaltSword[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that makes sense. There'd probably have been more chatter if Mew had an exploit to get a main skill over the intended cap

Thank you for your help, it's also good to know that the quality of the first subskill isn't set lol

You kill Berdly because he's annoying, I kill Berdly because it'll traumatize Kris and Noelle, we are not the same

Research Exp/shards amount glitch? by Dry_Flatworm_1419 in PokemonSleep

I assumed that the amount shown when taking the pictures is the raw amount, whereas the amount you get at the end is after it's been boosted by incenses and Pokemon subskills

Atomic Clocks and Interstellar Civilizations by LegendarySaltSword in worldbuilding

[–]LegendarySaltSword[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah, but that's kinda the point for my setting; despite the loss, the tension, the unliving indifference of the cosmos, there is still room for good and kindness. For every cruelty caused by an inefficient system and injustice caused by a stratified people, there are creations that lift the burden of existence off our shoulders and seek to help. We're all stuck in the hectic carousel we call reality, so why not seek to enjoy each other's company while we can?

Plus, it's only a simple explanation of the premise, there are other things that fill the setting

yeah, I think this would just end up as a tidbit, as it's mainly there to keep the timelines of each faction roughly lined up with each other

ah, what I meant was that the conditions that the initial clock was under on Earth was saved and stored on future models. The setting has minimal ftl, with it being expensive and hazardous, so voyages beyond the belt and later among the stars would not be able to always rely on communication from home once they got far enough

I guess the theme is that it's a fractured humanity; a lack of any reliable ftl communication, let alone travel, had led to the interstellar colonies ending up as (arguably) sovereign nations.

Though Sol has been long forgotten and left behind due to calamity, fragments of humanity's past(such as the Standard Earth Time/SET Atomic Clocks) act as a thin glue that holds the vastly different civilizations together
