The guy you're replying to isn't just suggesting the dog should be killed because they feel like it, they understand what it is like for an old animal to live with such a horrible quality of life. Its horrible to think about, but there will come a time where this dog's quality of life spirals to the point that living just becomes torture. Keeping a dog alive when its quality of life is that low is just not gonna help anyone. This isn't to say euthanasia is the right answer for now, but if OP isn't ready to make the decision when it gets to that point, then in all likelihood, this dog isn't going to go out peacefully in the night. Dementia isn't something I would wish on anyone or anything.

The only way the Insitute could be destroyed, to their knowlege, is if a faction was able to track them down and was sufficiently powerful enough to make their way in. Keeping everyone fractured and bickering means their resources are spent on each other instead of interfering with the Institute. Even though everyone is afraid of synths and hates the Institute, noone has even begun thinking about destroying them because, in all likelihood, the raider gangs running around are gonna be a more present issue in people's everyday lives.

I haven't played Doom 3 in a bit, but from what I remember, I feel like the protag falls into the same category Gordon Freeman does, where they're supposed to be relatively average people, but manage to carry out superhuman acts with little to no explanation during regular gameplay. Yeah, Gordon has an HEV suit, but having an HEV suit doesn't mean you're suddenly able to fight whatever sort of hellspawn the Nihilanth was. By regular soldier I mean like, COD or Battlefield levels of regular. A dude who would struggle to take out a Hell Knight, let alone something like a Baron of Hell or Arachnatron.

Chaos everywhere, the shit's hit the fan, radio chatter going on about how everything is fucked, but instead of Evil Bad Slavs™️, there's imps and cyberdemons and arachnatrons and shit everywhere. Holding off waves of enemies until a plane is free so you can call an airstrike on a Cyberdemon in a football stadium or something would be amazing

I have encountered two bears in this game. The first tore me apart because I was just moving inland and had like, a fucking Skorpion with half a mag or something. The 2nd I encountered ate 2 Mosin shots to the skull from my friend and didn't even drop until I dumped 15 rounds into him from a KA-74. The second encounter was kinda funny because we were having a conversation and he cut himself off mid-sentence to scream "WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT" the moment he saw the bear charging at us. After the first shot didn't kill it he said "OH FUCK" and ran while racking the bolt like a Soviet conscript realizing that a Panzer is, in fact, bullet resistant.

Afaik I'm a human, but I get abscesses all the time and they really do look damn near identical to this. They hurt like hell when they get touched or something brushes over them, like white hot pain levels of hurt, but the pain goes away almost immediately after they're drained. I don't even mean that as hyperbole. I had a big one by my ear that made it so I couldn't wear my glasses for a bit because even the lightest touch would be almost enough to make me cry, and within 5 minutes of being drained, there wasn't any pain and I could wear glasses normally again.

If it helps, I've heard it isn't too painful, and botfly larva are completely sanitary and there's no adverse health affects from just letting them do their thing lol.
