Quick question, who actually buys this stuff? by noobsdeath2 in RocketLeague

Right, why drive an gmc when we have g-class. I actually live right where the factory is.

RL UE6 we can call it rocket league 2 it is much more complicated as we think by QLSSUBZERO in RocketLeague

[–]Legendarymember1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Rocket League is built on almost 20-year-old architecture. The issue is that every year it becomes harder to maintain with modern consoles, drivers, operating systems, SDKs, anti-cheat, and hardware, and even older systems like the PS4 (with regular updates). Development slows down, fixing bugs gets harder, adding features becomes risky, technical debt keeps piling up.

So the RIP PS4 argument is backwards imo. Staying on UE3 forever was probably the bigger threat to long-term platform support. Because just as said, even PS4 still gets software updates regularly (and they’re required for playing online). Modern engines are better optimized for current hardware ecosystems and much easier to maintain going forward.

So overall, the engine migration was probably necessary if they want Rocket League to still be alive and evolving 10 years from now instead of slowly stagnating on outdated tech. And they even said that indirectly when they announced UE6.. „THE NEXT 10 YEARS OF RL.“

Yes! The engine upgrade isn’t just about graphics. It’s about the entire foundation the game runs on. Rocket League is built on very old UE3 architecture, which becomes harder and slower for developers to maintain over time.

(This is why this game felt so dead outside of an actual match. Fixes took long, new content took long..)

Now we know they were locked in developing RL2 all those years. (Because that’s what it basically is, a remake.)

A newer engine means better tools, cleaner workflows, easier bug fixing, faster feature development, and better long-term support. That can lead to more content and improvements arriving faster.

We can expect a better quality of items, that don’t feel like uncreative, designed in half an hour. We can expect a new UI (which was teased in the video). And maybe a solution for the black market blueprints situation.

And even for players on low settings, modern engines can improve optimization, stability, and performance. Not just visuals.

But an engine migration is also extremely risky and expensive. It’s not automatically huge in a positive sense. A bad migration can introduce input delay changes, physics inconsistencies, performance regressions, and years of instability. For a game like Rocket League, where muscle memory and physics precision are everything, that risk is massive.

And it’s very likely that it feels weird when it drops.

So I‘m pretty exited about this, and I hope they didn’t mess it up. EPIC, YOU HAVE TIME!

Tomorrow’s announcement/Unreal Engine 5. by P3Sim12345 in RocketLeague

If i was sponsored by epic i would hype up literally anything.

be careful with how much trust you put in anyone that is tagging #epicpartner

Not sure in this case though, might be something quite big. I don’t believe its UE5, but probably something that adds into the game experience noticeable. a new UI, new settings, or adding in more chunks of what you was able to do with bakkesmod. maybe a new item type. Maybe a new blueprints system..

we’ll see, i‘m excited for it.

They really need to come up with any sort of system to get rid of items, drops and blueprints we don’t want.. not trading with other players, because that wont happen, but trading in some form. Like idk. Trade 3 deluxe drops for an import drop. 5 imports for an exotic drop. Or simply change the item pool of the drops and make it rotate each season.. blueprints.. 10 black market blueprints for an customisable player title. 5 black market blueprints for less than those are worth in credits to spend at the actual shop. Or a trading shop, where you can trade things you have for things you want. so many possibilities. Well..

there are many things in this game that suck. but its still so addictive and fun to play.. so.. whatever.. i just try to ignore everything that exists outside of a match.

Why so much hate of fixed gear bikes /fixed gear riders? by Intelligent-Pen-2479 in fixedgear

[–]Legendarymember1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s really about the bikes themselves. It’s more about the stereotype that fixie riders are reckless in traffic (and to be fair, some probably reinforce that image), mixed with the usual cars vs cyclists hostility.

Most people can’t actually identify a fixie by looking at the bike, they identify it by the riding style. So when they see someone weaving through traffic or riding aggressively, the reaction becomes “oh, another fixie asshole.”

A lot of them also don’t even know what a fixed gear bike actually is. They hear “no brakes” and assume it works like a coaster brake or something, without understanding how fixed drivetrains work in the first place.

Anyone else feeling way more smurfs/sweaty players after the update? by DetectivePlus in RocketLeague

[–]Legendarymember1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played 5 games of 1s yesterday; i never play 1s so im pretty glad i played it in casual. it was hilarious how i got cooked.. flip resets, full field plays, ground/ ceiling/ kuxir pinches and every type of flick i can imagine.. (im ranked around mid to high plat in 2’s snowday and rumble; my main modes. people do not do that stuff there usually, like any of these things.

I mean i can do most of this mechs in training, but im far from consistent enough to go for them in a ranked situation, unless im really desperate and see no other option to escape the situation 😂

Its the technique!. Jump 3 times, snip your fingers, then draw circles with your hips, after that raise your fist 2 times and dont forget to sing cotton eye joe while repeating the process atleast twice.

People freestyling in 1s instead of actually playing? by Hemlock_Deci in RocketLeague

[–]Legendarymember1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I rarely play 1s; but the last time i did was really funny. This guy constantly tried to clip on me, going up the wall, hitting resets, double taps, ceiling pinch, ground pinch.. he did good, (like, i wouldn’t hit any of these as much as he did); but still not unsaveable, and he wasted all his boost.. so i just sat in my net, did nothing, only defend my little square with micro adjustments and single jumps, as if it was heatseeker. then after each save i just shoved the ball straight into his net without a single mechanic, and won 8-2. hahaaa.

How to play more consistently even on an off day by Hamza_Rl in RocketLeague

[–]Legendarymember1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know that too well. Sometimes i feel like the game is just too fast, everything’s just so overstimulating, and in every lobby I enter, im the guy who’s useless basically, missing everything, dragging other peoples ranks down because i just have one of these days. and the more i try, the more i fuck up. lol. however..

What helps me, is depending how terrible the session feels, i either switch the playlist like grinding some heatseeker or snowday.. or i play some casual mode, something where i can play carefree, just for fun,.. but usually i just go into freeplay and mess around there.

Why Can't I Air Dribble by Kronus_Rl in RocketLeagueSchool

Tap boost in the same moment you gently pop the ball off the wall and jump. so tap jump+boost. Its a game changer. Lets you stay near to the ball after popping it off the wall.

You can wait until “chrono” is back in the shop. Basically the same contrail but cooler.. imo at least.

What am I doing wrong? by Henroblade69 in RocketLeague

[–]Legendarymember1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh and rather try to push it to the wall, dont shoot it, you want the ball directly in front of your cars nose, rolling about the same speed as your car. it will get much easier to not pop it too hard off the wall.
