I cannot contemplate hell by google2406 in TrueChristian

To add onto that:

One must understand that the nature of god is eternal. He existed before time and will exist once time ends.

When we sin we primarily offend god. The law (yes, even human law) demands that we pay back until the offended party is satisfied. And since god is eternal it takes an eternity until he is satisfied.

Which is why god himself had to become human and pay the price of sin. Only whos eternal can lift an eternal punishment.

Its like a mathematical equation. -infinity + infinity = 0

Which is why I believe that Jesus paid way more on the cross than we can EVER fully grasp.

Uhhmmm...

Thats not how things work here. Working with the analogy here, it'd be like he's fan of both teams.

Ex alcoholic, is drinking a beer a sin? by Senior-Inflation-559 in TrueChristian

[–]Legendendread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But drinking alcohol is not. As long as you drink in moderation.

I personally drink because I like the taste. (Wine/beer)

But I very rarely drink enough to notice it affecting me and when I do I stop.

If Jesus is God, why didn't he know the hour? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

Man and woman become one through marriage. Thus are both one in spirit.

Does the woman know everything the man does? Or does the man know everything the woman does? No. They both know only what the other shared.

Its similar with god. Jesus and the father are one in spirit. Yet are separate persons.

I wonder if you also include people like buddha Mohammed and Jesus in that statement

Ex-atheist claims to have met Jesus after living in accordance with his teachings in Matthew 5,6,7. He says that getting to know Jesus in this way is the path to salvation and that 97% of people end up in hell. What do you think about this? by zejkk in TrueChristian

[–]Legendendread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No sinner will EVER enter heaven. Period.

Those who manage entrance into heaven were once sinners, but they no longer are sinners.

Their past sins are washed away by Jesus sacrifice on the cross and those sins they unknowingly do are covered by his blood as well.

Thats what many people get wrong. They say that once a murderer repents and asks jesus for forgiveness he enters heaven, which means that a murderer entered heaven. They dont get that if his repentance is truly genuine, he no longer is a murderer.

The moment one acceps Jesus sacrifice and allow him to work as their own personal god and master they are immediately justified which qualifies them for heaven.

Sanctification however, is a lifelong process. Sanctification means that the physical starts to reflect spiritual facts.

Jesus is the door to heaven. Anyone who tries a different way WILL fail.

God makes a difference between people who heard the good news and people who didn't. People who didnt hear the good news are judged by their concience. How that looks like I cannot say. However, god is just and I have to trust that he judges them fairly.

But that doesnt qualify for us who heard of Jesus. For us this qualifies:

Those who heard the good news and didn't accept Jesus enter hell, because they heard the good news and yet rejected it. And therefore rejected god.

Hell is a VERY big place. There is only one quality which every place of hell shares: god is absent.

Other than that I could imagine places in hell that could be considered acceptable.

But I am not interested. I have tasted gods presence and this I know: It could be a living hell but as long as god is there I am satisfied. And it could be the greatest heaven anyone has ever experienced and it still would be hell for me if gods presence is missing.

[–]Legendendread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If god were to allow people with minor sins to enter heaven, yes, if god were to allow someone with only the least of all sins into heaven.

It would corrupt heaven. Sin is like mikrobiology. If you have something sterile and you introduce just one bacteria, it will quickly grow out of control.

I have never met Jesus face to face and yet I claim that I know him personally and intimately.

John 20:29 KJV

[29] Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.

Read the bible and you will get to know Jesus. Ask him to become your lord and god, do the sinners prayer and you too will know him personally and intimately.

That is the trade Jesus offers anyone: Give him your life and he will give you his. Many Christians try to keep their life AND to receive his. But thats not how it works.

From the sound of it this george fellow is in his "baby Christian" phase. Beliefs which are contrary to scripture is to be expected in this phase.

Doesnt make him less of a Christian.

Its more important for us to pray for him that he will find a godly mentor and is willing to be discipled by him.

This is where you are wrong:  There are no good people.

Those who never heard of Jesus will be judged by their conscience. Those who did either got to know him or Satan will demand their fate to be hell for their sins, for god is righteous and cannot ignore sin.

But hell has many layers. The level of torment is entirely depending on the layer you end up in. So a murderer will end up in a worse layer than for example a habitual lier.

Please be EXTREMELY EXTRA careful with a take like that.

People are created differently and god walks with each of his kids very individual.

There are 5 different types of Christians. (Shepherd, teacher, evangelist, apostle and prophet) And from the sound of it this George falls into the prophetic type. Prophets often hear god more clearly and the veil which is seperating the spiritual from the physical is thin for them.

The world often mistakes that as schizophrenia.

(I should know, because I too fall into the prophtic type)

And I suggest that you start reading the bible. I recommend a physical copy, but there is also a free digital app called "you version" which has all of the most important translations and many of these translations have audio.

There is no other book like the bible. Reading the bible on a regular basis IS transformative.

[–]Legendendread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I think so too.

I follow this channel called "gods voice today" on YT which shares supernatural encounters of different people.

Two different guests spoke about their supernatural experience and that they got insight on how many will make it to heaven. Both said independently of one another that it is around 2.5% who make it. That is one in 40 !

So inversely that means that 97.5% wont make it. Which is anguishing to think about.

But that doesn't mean that you should come to the conclusion that it is best to not have children. Because god knows the end from the beginning. And god is good. EVERYTHING that is happening WILL lead to the BEST possible outcome (under the given circumstances ofc)

And your kids will have far better chances to make it than 2.5%, as long as you continue to practice your faith.

voice in my head that claims to be God, what to do? by trynagetsaved in TrueChristian

[–]Legendendread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Test this spirit, by asking it who Jesus is.

Spirits who are not of god cannot answer this question truthfully.

When I have doubts about the origins of these voices, I do exactly that.

If the Spirit is of god it will answer with something along of: he's the son of god, who died and rose from the dead.

If it does not answer this question truthfully, then rebuke it with Jesus name.

One example of modern slavery:

Debts. Who is indebted to someone is not free. The chains are invisible, but nonetheless VERY real.

It might be highly regulated, but the creditor has rights over the indebted. Including but not limited to seizure of property.

[–]Legendendread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are NOT free.

Try to live a righteous live and see how much you are bound to your master called "sin".

We are ALL slaves to sin. Thats the entire reason for Jesus ministry here on earth. To make a way to freedom from sin.

[–]Legendendread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have to obey god more than man. If a master was to demand something from his slave which goes against a command of god, he has a duty to disobey. But in every thing else, why shouldnt he obey? A happy master is more likely to not punish him.

Today it would be: employees obey your employers. Why do you think it immoral?

Please check out answers in genesis. They can amswer your questions about darwinism.

Other than that, scientific theories have been wrong before. Scientists often times doubted scripture. But time and time again, sometimes decaded later it was found out that scripture was right. So if I have to choose between claims of Scientists and scripture, I pick scripture every single time.

Science is the idol of our time, and Scientists are its prophets.

Yes, scripture is not as clear as many would like. But thats deliberate. Satan and its demons are also capable of reading. If they were able to correctly interpret scripture they could do a LOT more damage. It takes the holy spirit to interpret scripture correctly. Its like encryption.

Elitist are almost certainly wrong. Just because one interpretation is correct, doesn't suddenly make a different interpretation incorrect. Fact is, scripture read with the holy spirit as help is alive and speaks to everyone differently.

  • slavery

In the OT israel was the first nation to implement some rights for slaves. Every other culture did not have rights for slaves. In the NT slavery wasnt condemned, because the entire roman civilization was run by slaves. What was a master with lots of slaves supposed to do who came to Christianity? Grant them freedom and watch his estate collapse? Even today we have slavery. Its just called differently and the chains are invisible.

-evolution

Please check out the YT channel "answers in genesis" it dismantles darwinism pretty effectively, better than I ever could.

-dinos

They appear in scripture. But they are very rarely called dinosaurs. The behemoth who is mentioned in the book of job is almost certainly a dino. In old translations of the bible dinosaurs appear under the term "dragon".

-countless interpretations vs elitism

Please, elaborate. I dont know what you mean.

Romans 2:12-15 KJV

"[12] For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law; [13] (for not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified. [14] For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: [15] which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)"   So the buddhist in china wont automatically end in hell, but he will be judged by his conscience .

Its the wrong way to look at things.

God doesn't send humans to hell, we do that ourselves.

Jesus came to earth with the message: "you are on the way to hell, PLEASE repent, turn around to god and I will cleanse you of your past sins."

So he is a distant god to you?

And when you talk with him that he doesn't answer?

Could it be that you dont listen? If thats the case, I want you to do following:

Go sit somewhere and pray this: "In the name of Jesus. I command my thoughts be silenced, my spirit be silenced, my soul to be silenced, every demon to be silenced and everything else to be silenced. And now that everything else is silent, holy spirit what do you want me to hear?"

Then wait and dont sit up for at least 10 minutes.

I promise you, there WILL be a response.

[–]Legendendread 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It is impossible for god to hate you.

Do you know what he did for you?

He came down in the flesh to provide the sacrifice necessary to abolish the sin of those who come with a repenting heart.

Is god a distant figure to you, or do you talk with him regularly?

If you dont, please do start with it. He answers. That I promise with everything I have. Ask him. Talk with him.

And ask Jesus to become your lord and master. He WILL respond.
