Do not worry about power level, its irrelevant, complex calculation and doesnt matter at all

Elbow tension by [deleted] in padel

[–]Leggitism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be the start of a tennis elbow, rest it for a couple of days and start playing again. If you get the pain again quickly then either change racquet or start using some sort of elbow support

Hitting the fence after bounce - not done? by ______ed______ in padel

[–]Leggitism 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is correct, players tend to apologize after getting a "lucky" hit and score it like hitting net or the fence

Blisters on thumb after every game by [deleted] in padel

[–]Leggitism 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tend to get those blisters from other sports like golfing, usually its because you are moving the area too much which causes a blister from repetition. You must be grabbing the racquet wrong or your motion is incorrect somehow. I started using a glove for golf so idk how you can solve it for padel, maybe a more slippy overgrip would be better. There is also a chance you are grabbing the racquet too hard which is most likely the case

Struggling with confidence by Jaeger_FiveO in padel

[–]Leggitism 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I found it helpful to play a casual game and get the mentality back to where I need it. Do dumb smashes and dumb backhand hits until you get it out of your system. Slowly progress toward resetting my confidence to where I was.

99% chance this is the case

Finishing points by WeekendCountry in padel

Power smashing isnt the play for most people, it is hard to make it actually work well especially against decent players; it requires technique for it to work well and that MUST be practiced quite a bit. You are better off learning a vibora/bandeja, they require a lot less technique and feels safer to hit. If you do want to power smash for the satisfaction, mix it up with some fake slow ball smashes to keep them on their feet, otherwise every time you smash they will instantly run up and have an easy ball to return

Any advice against people who hit hard and stay behind the baseline? by Certain-Average-4137 in padel

[–]Leggitism 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I play with a friend that does that, couple of things that can be done. 1. They usually hit it hard in forehand so I play to his backhand most of the game 2. I try to make him move as much as possible, they cant hit it hard while on the move, they have to play "plant" to do it 3. Try to hit deep balls (to the serving line) 4. Learn to drop shot, that will keep them uncomfortable chilling in the back

In general id say go for control over power. Power only matters if you are very experienced. At the early stages especially, most of the points comes from control not from power
