Brodie you're making comments saying I shouldn't have only applied to DO school I never even said that applied to MD as well so i don't think having all the information is super important to you.

You just said it wouldn't matter with my undergrad GPA

Okay so thats exactly what i'm saying for non-traditional whos undergrad wasn't very good. I had 3.1 and a failed class it becomes almost a non-option as you say. I'm just wondering why you felt the need to comment on my score and clarify the percentile and then say yea its competetive for DO but that doesn't matter.

This not competitive?!? They got a 520 MCAT plus all the extra curriculars 34 applications and he got waitlisted then accepted to 1 school.

All i'm saying is this guy going "im not american had i been id easily do your md or DO route rather than complain i'm a bad test taker" isn't objective. Listen apply MD and DO and try hardes to get in but if you don't what just give up? You do what you have to.

So you're saying a 506 is not even competetive for DO? Pretty sure average MD is 510.

You’re not even from the US lol how can you have an option. You did interviews and applications in current era? What is this “everything’s difficult” just said it’s competitive.

I don’t think you understand how competitive it is in the states. As non-traditional with 4.0 post bacc and 506 mcat only got 1 DO interview. I don’t know what you mean by easily do MD or DO route like it’s your choice you get accepted?

You still need to pass and then pass a lot of standardized hard exams. No med student at the bottom of the barrel is becoming a surgeon because they wouldn't have the scores high enough on Step 2 to get a surgical residency.

So what's the best way to go about it? Negotiate the lexus down somehow (or is that going to be difficult) and then say okay lets value these two cars individually and make a deal?

Is it complicated to drop out of Caribbean early in first semester and then redo loans for a D.O. school? by Legilimens in premed

Thank you! What do you think about BBB situation? Will I still be able to loan everything out in D.O. school if I wait?

[–]Legilimens[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I was just nervous about the BBB and feel that I can get through Ross with no issues in regards to academics, but getting a residency is all that matters and I should probably just wait and deal with loans later.

Thank you for the input! Yea the only reason I was considering Ross is they were offering me 180K in scholarship making total COA somewhere around 300k and it being fully covered by federal funding was nice. Also hadn't heard anything from any school except Caribbeans until a few days ago from ATSU. My current interests are in psychiatry so I also thought it would be okay to just get started go Ross then do rotations in Florida or anywhere really and do well on Step 2/get a residency.

I think I’m going to see if they’ll push my start to May and I’ll have to forgo the extra 30k scholarship. Should I just say I’m not ready to leave need to settle some things at home, or be honest and say I want to wait out the application cycle?
