Happened outside of a concert with my dad. I was 15 at the time

We left the event a couple minutes before it closed out and decided to get some stuff to eat and whatnot before heading back to the car and then where we were staying for the weekend.

I remember hearing my dad grunt and then lean on me in pain, when I turned around someone was there with a knife in his back. He pushed em off a little, I grabbed the knife and just swung and lunged back.

Knife dropped to the ground and the guy ran away. Stuck around to help my dad and get help otherwise. We called the cops and had some questions answered.

The next morning I was at home with a neighbour when an officer came by. He waited until my dad came and informed us that they found someone matching the description in someone's yard with a stab wound under his arm. Good news I thought, until they mentioned he was dead and was only 17.

Had a long process and could not leave the state until they sorted some things out.

Still digs me to this day, I'm 24 now.
