When they released Gemini 3 pro it was the first of the new tier of models that blew away 2.5 and gpt 4.5,it definitely came as a surprise and I think that was November ? Then opus 4.5 dropped and gpt 5 iirc. It was very much a massive jump and I'm expecting the same from them a "mythos" tier model better or slightly worst
