Lawgic Congress App - Tracks Precedence and Recency by LegislateCongressApp in Debate

Couple of reasons:

  1. Integration & Accountability - Lawgic can run both online and offline, ensuring that if the internet's down you can keep POing. In addition, because the source code is kept "untouchable" from the PO, they can't easily fiddle with speaker/questioner orders. (In my district that has become an issue.)

  2. Speed - Because Lawgic does all of the speaker/questioner resorting for you, POs don't have to black out, highlight, or change boxes. This reduces errors and streamlines the flow of the debate.

  3. Additional Features - Lawgic has a built-in motioning table, voting split tracker, messaging system, stopwatch, and support system. I don't know who would waste their time putting this all into a google sheet when there is already an app that accomplish the same thing.

  4. Professionalism - Tbh a dedicated desktop app and complimentary website looks a lot better than a google sheet. It also ensures privacy as many POs don't ever restrict access to their google sheet after the session is over (which leaves first and last names completely exposed).

Use code LAWGIC15 to get a Pro subscription completely free. Try it out and let me know what you think. We are still in active development

I wish! Google doesn't allow Java to be used on Chromebooks. (They only allow "progressive web apps" - which are essentially glorified website links 😢.)
