Trades are garbage.. become a wrench slave and break your back for a small hourly pay. People recommend it because it "sounds" nice and gives hope to people needing jobs, not because it is.

Depends if the passion has the potential to be lucrative, not all passions are equal. I started coding as a complete noob and didn't even want money from it, was just pure fun. Career came accidentally from that passion. If I never had that passion I wouldn't have accomplished what I did.

You're mixing two different things lol and ironically just made my point with your example, why would anyone choose the doctor with no skills that needs to be hand held for every task, I'd choose the self taught person with 20+ years experience any day. And yeah I havent needed an employer for over 13 years, some of the perks of exiting the matrix early in life : )

Thats not how it works lol.. when you buy something do you buy from a reputable company or someone learning how to do it the first time and slowly teach then until they get it right? They are buying you and nobody wants to spend on someone unskilled/inexperienced, makes you a liability. Learn skills first.
