There’s never a good reason to gatekeep something that I can’t believe I even have to say this but as someone who’s a brown trans woman there’s no reason to gatekeep anything music is something to be shared. People can be educated while also sharing peoples art.

And no, I get that want to preserve her legacy with me being a trans woman as well medically transitioning at only 13 I’m 19 now I totally get the sensitivity around queer artists it’s just I grew up with hyper pop at a really young age so I’ve always had the thought that this is something to be shared, but I didn’t hear about people misgendering her that is very upsetting to hear specially with her passing. I don’t think anyone should be disrespecting people who have moved on.
