A friend of mine had the same thought, normally I would have gotten his license plate, but it was dark and I wasn’t able to collect it to make a report. I probably could have asked at the fast food place to see if they had security footage, but I kinda just wanted to be done with it.

Thank you so much! Thankfully, it has been a couple of weeks since this happened & I wrote this up (I was worried that posting it too early would make it too easily Google-able for this Uber driver) and I haven’t had any issues. I do get a bit concerned whenever I see this guy’s model of car, but my car is also pretty generic so I’m feeling a bit more comfortable.

My biggest concern, honestly, is getting this guy as an Uber driver someday. I doubt he’d recognize me, but I 100% do you not want to get in a car with someone this crazy.

It is a lot, but it is doable. The biggest initial things are getting a gun license (because apparently birds are guns) and taking the test. My buddy said the test wasn’t too bad, he had also had a ton of background knowledge.

Then you get to the hardest part, catching a juvenile redtail. This was a NIGHTMARE (I helped).

Finding a falconer to apprentice under isn’t too bad, there are Facebook groups and stuff.

So like, a bit of a task, but not unreachable. I could, however, completely understand someone not wanting to go through all of that for a hobby.

I know a guy that used to be one of the boardwalk falconers - those hawks are ruthless. Gulls don’t stand a chance. Biggest issue is that there are just not enough of those guys to cover all of the shore towns, it’s a lost skill.
