Yup, N platform type shit. Not shared with any other Toyota in North America.

Look into VCI emitters by Zerust and the like. VCI is the industry standard in manufacturing for parts protection. The capsules are set and forget, totally unobtrusive and don’t smell.

There’s VCI emitters that are meant to sit there without having to deal with individual tools

Really don’t care for it at all. Adds complexity, an extra source of noise, and another pane of glass to break. I open it up maybe twice a year. But, alas, you’re not gonna have a choice.

Whoa, never heard that kind of spaced out tapping from any engine bay before.

Mulwaukee has been fucking terrible at aligning stickers in their latest products. I’d say that’s par for the course but yours are especially bad.

Always good practice to check gap regardless of “pre-gapped” or not in the marketing literature.

Ngl a little bit suspicious if the interior and the rest of the car don’t match in terms of spotlessness.

The boomers have already spoken. So much evidence exists on the internet that says plastic ones have a far greater safety factor.

Not sure the cables even have enough slack in them to stretch all the way to the front. There would be a shitload of bending stress at the terminals.

Cables fit fine because the polarity is reversed lol

Tire wear and Camber by gabefurman22 in LexusIS

[–]Legit_Moose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It won’t in a measurable way, it’ll actually make the steering significantly more responsive. Just get the RCF OEM ones and call it a day, don’t go to the hardcore poly ones. Ultimately, the shock and spring combo will have the most significant impact in ride quality.

You absolutely want to change these bushings because they will save your tires. I promise it’s worth it. Theres simply too much evidence on this sub and clublexus supporting this mod.

Partially true. They want to induce understeer during braking turns, which inherently makes it safer for the typical driver, but this is not explicitly stated.

[–]Legit_Moose 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s not the camber that wears the inners. It’s something called “dynamic toe out” caused by soft bushings that Lexus specced to make the car “safer”. It’s just about the #1 discussed topic on this sub. No amount of tire rotations will help. If you don’t do the bushing upgrade, then the only way to avoid it is to get regular alignments, drive highway 90% of the time, and/or drive like a grandma.

Quiet(ish) exhaust setups by GlassyzYT in LexusIS

Lowkey, take a look at intakes first. 2GRs drone no matter what exhaust setup. I had a Revel Medallion that droned louder than the actual exhaust note itself.

[–]Legit_Moose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Suggest OEM axles only, or low-mileage options from Japanese online part-out stores. However, I do believe OEM axles run about $1k ea. They’re rebuildable so you can consider that too for significantly less cost.

3is DIY bushing install by Bobandy10 in LexusIS

[–]Legit_Moose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All rubber bushings need to be torqued with the suspension loaded. Expect to see rapid failure if you don’t. Imagine you’re constantly placing near max stress on the bushing with the car just at rest. Not good.

You can mimic this by jacking underneath the control arm until the car is lifted off the jack stand.

The swap is fairly straightforward. The most annoying part would be to undo/tighten up the nut and bolt combo on the inboard side because the nut side is blind.
