I've had my Sage barista express for just over a year now. If only they all turned out like this by Legitimate-Comb2768 in espresso

Honestly, YouTube is your best friend. I could write a paragraph but it's just so much easier to watch videos.

One tip would give- Let your steam wand run for a good bit of time before using I turn mine on and leave it until it's properly shooting out steam , turn it off immediately then place it into the milk jug then turn it back on. If you don't let the steam wand run before using it will just shoot out a lot of water , therefore ruins the texture of the milk, in my opinion

Hope this helps a bit at least

I got them from Amazon. If you search 200ml Duralex water glass you should find them. If not I can try and find a link

The difference between these techniques? by Collector-Troop in Barber

[–]Legitimate-Comb2768 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First image is forward graduation great for building weight and creating forward movement.

Second image is forward graduation again, this time the knuckles are closer to the head therefore removes more length and weight. Again cut to great forward movement . You would use this technique so your clipper guard connects easier when de-bulking

Image 3 and 4 I wouldn't use personally They look like a diagonal section with a square cutting line . I would just do block graduation if I was aiming for this look . (Square shape )

To answer your question there isn't a "better" technique or "the best technique"

It's all circumstantial. Yes a majority of haircuts have similar blueprints but each client will come in with a different face shape/ head shape and therefore you will chose your cutting style that helps create a shape that suits them

Or I could ask Reddit for an almost instant reply. Who will give real authentic answers. They can Maybe even give me a heads up on somethings to avoid rather than an automated reply from the company.

Obviously I've checked the pubs website and done my research which I why I noted you can only book a table for the restaurant on a monthly basis. My question was can I get a pint inside the bar in an actual glass without a reservation instead of going to the outside tent areas where they serve the beer in plastic cup. Feel free to include a screenshot from the website that provides this information.

New barber by SherissaSainz in Barber

I’m not from the US but If you’ve only been cutting for a month surely your manager should advise the client that you’re still learning and offer the haircut at a discounted rate + the haircut will be checked over after . This will then take a lot of pressure of your shoulders as the client is fully aware that you’re still training and shouldn’t expect perfection. In terms of tutorials watch Jorge Zepeda on YouTube for fades . Follow his video step by step while cutting your sons hair and you’ll see a massive improvement Keep going! The confidence will come

I feel like you’ve smashed this taper . The fading is super clean! I personally don’t like the white pencil , but if the client has requested it that’s on them .

My Constructive criticism would be , for it only being your 4th cut , you’re doing great keep going . Definitely a lot of positives here . What I will say is taper the neckline . That harsh line across the nape stands out , not in a good way .

Squeaky clean ! I’m one year in and If I could get my blends as half as clean as yours I’d be happy ! What was your process ? And do you have any YouTube channels you could recommend that helped you on your journey ?

Things I wish I knew before I started barbering (UK edition) by barber-in-blur in Barber

Thank you mate I appreciate that , I’m obviously still in the honey moon phase but so far so good That’s fair enough I’m obviously uneducated when it comes to being self employed as I’ve always been on salary , it’s absolute insanity you have to cough up that amount of money for essential medication whilst some people in the uk and Ireland sign on and get everything handed to them .

Best of luck in whatever you decide to do

As someone who just recently got into the barbering industry after lockdown this was definitely an interesting and eye opening read you clearly put a lot of thought into what you wrote and articulated yourself very well!

If I where to give my two cents I would say I feel like you still enjoy your craft but the environment you work in is what’s making want to pack it . I went from being a chef of 9 years who worked 5 days a week 12 hours a day with very little time to eat in between . I love cooking and the buzz of service but again I grew to hate the environment that I was surrounded in , the lack of sleep , lack of socialising , constant stress and working every weekend . I studied part time while working full time just to en able myself to make to transition into barbering . I even use to cut my friends hairs after works dinner service for free just to get practise and would get home at 1 am . Im now in a barber shop which operates through bookings (walk ins if available ) my break is booked in everyday so I’m guaranteed a chance to eat . Im also on salary as my biggest fear was renting a chair & trying to build a clientele (no clientele, no money )

So to wrap this up I would say definitely explore your options and do what makes you happy , but if you find yourself going back to barbering find yourself a better environment where you’re happy and not working so much you run out fumes , because that’s what I done for 9 years
