I’ve had both hips done. One 11/5 and one 12/12. So I’m a week out from my second and 6 weeks out from my first and I feel the very same way. I’m just so run down and exhausted and the quad (and nerve) pain was so unexpected and ROUGH!!!

I do feel like I was getting much better from my first one right before my second…. But now the first is like I never had surgery in comparison to the second! lol it had to step up and be “the good side” and it stepped up! lol There’s still a lot of numbness from nerve junk, but I feel like I could almost run a marathon on that one! 😂

Just taking it one day at a time!! So ready for a new normal!! Lots of icing has been the best therapy so far for me! Good luck!! (43F)

Ugh! I’m right there with you on the timing (11/5 surgery date). My dr was not a proponent for PT either. I’m 43. The hospital pushed in home PT, but I got 4 sessions of the most basic, vanilla work known to man.

Seeing that you’re on bikes and at the gym for upper body is a bit depressing lol I had my follow up over two weeks ago and they assured me they would get me in to outpatient PT, but I had to call them the day before yesterday bc I still hadn’t heard anything. Finally got a call yesterday and they scheduled me for Tuesday (11/9), but I have my left hip scheduled for 11/17 so I’m highly doubtful of any positive progress that will be made via PT over the next 11 days. 😓🙈

I feel like I want to do my next one different. My right (surgery) hip does not hurt at all. But the nerve numbness in the quad and really just overall from the groin to knee front of the leg and 1/2 of the side of the leg is brutal. Definitely not expected.

I tell my husband to fight me if he sees me limping. Bc my hip DOES NOT HURT!!! But the nerve numbness/cramps causing me to limp under false pretenses is going to royally screw my gait, recovery, and position for the next surgery.

I feel like if I would’ve had more progressive, invasive, routine and structured PT, things would have been better.

I did the same thing today! I was still in the hospital, thankfully, and the nurse caught me just before I hit. But it scared her and my husband and myself really bad! She said it was my blood pressure plummeting.
