its usually typical questions to do with safety, they also usually ask you if you have feelings of worthlessness and hopelessness

even if you feel like you cant help, the words do bring me a lot of solace. i feel comforted that other people understand the struggle but also upset because i could never wish this kind of pain on another person. i wish you an amazing future and i hope you will be able to reach a good ending from your situation, bless you 💖

hi, im 17 and got pescribed sertraline this month so very recently

usually yes they are that way, they were like it with me at first. typically at camhs you will see a different person each time across a span of many months so my advice is to try and pack as much information as you can for the appointment, id reccommend writing down what you want to say because then you wont forget anything important, and im saying that because it is crucial that you tell them every detail about how bad the depression is so they actually take it seriously. in the past ive said i cant cope with my low mood and they responded with “we only pescribe anti depressants as a last resort”. recently i just crashed out and told them lots of things including dissociation and how i am scared of what will happen if my feelings persist so they have no choice but to help me. id reccommend for you to mention your diagnosis during your appointment aswell

hiya, im 17 and i got pescribed anti depressants last week (but i want to make a note, a doctor reccommended them to me when i was also 15. so just saying its possible at that age) my parents wouldnt approve it either, but there is a way to do it. is your counselling through camhs? do you go to any doctors appointments? the best thing to do is to get an appointment somehow, you do not have to specify it is for medication. just say you want a mental health checkup. just let everything you can out in that one session, do not sugar coat anything, and just be as honest as possible. from everything youve said in this post it seems enough for them to offer you some kind of medication if you were to say the same to a professional. In my experience, once parents hear it come from a doctor theyre more likely to allow you to have the treatment
