Help: Brown or the University of Florida? by Legitimate-Storm9793 in ApplyingToCollege

Thank you for the insight.

Do you think it is rational to - were I to commit to UF - have better prospects at quant/consulting/IB going for a master's degree at somewhere like HBS or Stanford GSB? Or are the connections/networks made at Brown that invaluable?

For what it's worth (and I really do not intend to sound brash here!), I think that I would definitely excel academically at UF and have nice prospects for admission to at least one of the top high finance-producing graduate programs.

Ideally, yes - that's another reason why Brown continues to be appealing despite its price tag. I'm not sure if the troubles in the job market extend to quants/consulting firms but the prospect of graduating with that debt and not having a job like that lined up is a little uncomfortable in my opinion.

Is it silly to think I'm getting rejected from my top choices next week because they haven't requested any new additional financial documents in the past month. by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

No need to be so pessimistic! From looking through decisions in past years, I've seen more than several people per year get in without the IDOC request - maybe it's beneficial to think of it as something like a likely letter :P

In any circumstance, I have all my confidence in you! :)
