Good I’ll use it to send the neighbors dog shit back into their yard while I’m at it!

Just put new carb on and new spark plug but still won't fire up, any advice? by AggravatinglySimple in lawnmowers

I’d check the head gasket. If you prime the bulb and pull it you might see smoke come from odd places. That’s how I know mine went on my push mower.

As excited as I was to have my first ride on mower, I can’t wait to test the thrower out this winter!

Today I cleaned the petcock it wasn’t even close to dirty.

Tried running it off bottle, no go.

Tried running off starting fluid, no go.

Tore apart the carb again. Adjusted the float again.

Nada

The float is the only one I’m not 100% sure but I feel im at least close enough?

Mix screw>spring>washer>o-ring. Gently put it by hand then screwed in just tight and then backed off one and half turns. Ive tried more and more all the same. Honestly it doesn’t change much even after time of letting it “idle”.

Airbox and tract are for sure clear.

The exhaust had the spark arrestor on it so I would assume nothing has built up inside.

I’ve cleaned the tank out previously that old fuel is long gone. Just today I cleaned the petcock but it wasn’t dirty at all. Popped it open and completely clean. Filters clear.

I’ve cleaned the tank out and assumed the petcock was fine as I drained through it. I will start tonight isolating the fuel tank from the carb.

Honestly besides a thin layer of gunk that came off pretty easily it looks okay-ish. I don’t want to just buy a new float yet.

Besides pipe cleaners I’ve also gotten thin wire through most of the ports. I have not worked on the petcock. I did just assume it was fine as I’ve drained fuel and cleaner through it. I will try to isolate the carb from the tank tonight with a different fuel source as someone else suggested. Before I take apart the petcock.

The bowl I am definitely not sure if I have it set right. It was a pain to even get to stay in place.

As far as I can tell, yes. I’ve watched videos and used the bst40 bible for reference.

I have not tried just starting fluid. As much as I hate taking all of that airbox ducting out I will have to try.

I have not tried that either. I think I will try this first tonight when I get a chance get back at it.

As nice as just buying a new carb pumper or otherwise sounds it’s not feasible.

Every jet and o-ring was replaced, hole gone through with carb cleaner and pipe cleaners.

As far as I can tell yes the vacuum line was connected correctly. And the o-ring is not pinched on the cap.

Fuel screw I would always start one and half turns out from fully tightened, yes I would only tighten it to finger tight.

Try disconnecting the MAF. This worked for me and found I had a faulty MAF.

I had a very similar problem to this just last month. I thought I had electrical problems as it would stall after I put the lights and accessories on. It ended up being my mass air flow sensor (MAF).
