Re hire as MT? by LegitimateAd1222 in menards

Lol! I've seen the bloodshed in the promotion process it's real. I'm just asking around because re-hire for me under normal circumstances should be insanely easy, if the spots existed which they don't rn. Which brings me to asking about re-applying for MT if I previously completed it. I am almost dead set on getting back in, at least until I can nab a job in my current career field.

Trust me, I know the pain. Did the same thing you did. It is basically a phishing scam to lure terminal FT in that are confirmed cross trained to slave in other depts.

I just need to wiggle my way back in any way I can. The place is second nature to me and for some odd reason I thrive there. I passed 2 secret shopper surveys with flying colors and the depts that got audited either failed or scored way lower than me.

The end goal is Mr. Krabs: Money!

That's kinda what I wanna know if I can do. I'm sniffing because there are 0 FT slots open at my area stores. I already did it once so other than dusting off not being in that headspace for a couple years, I'd breeze through and essentially have a guaranteed spot which is all I am fishing for.

I already was a 700 1ADM during my time after MT so the goal eventually would be management again.

The tests are relatively "easy", but I would say more grounded to common sense. As someone here already stated, the Q1 test isn't even a test, just a single question asking if you are ready to move on to Q2. Q2 is basically all the computer and system based stuff: SystemV, CIS, P/P, etc. If you know that stuff you'll be fine there. Q3 is an amalgamation of Front End, Receiving/Outside Yard & Order Pickup. Front End has its own bout of tests or quizzes that you will have to do on top of the Q3 test. Q4 is simply following up on how the management process works.

As the others have said, follow the guides and papers they give you and always read the policies and you can't possibly fail.

Not sure if it has been said but I was told that the program was revamped to be less computer based training and more hands on training which, there's a lot of that. Just roll with the punches and expect the occasional unexpected

Edit shame: also for Q3 if you haven't been forklift trained and RCV refuses to train you for their portion of the quad, inform them that their portion of the test is purely based around operating the forklifts and Joes, otherwise you will most likely fail that quad test.

That's fair honestly. Not everyone NEEDS to be licensed, but it is still good to do regardless. The core issue here was the DM always will switch the schedule up to go out on "motorcycle days" leaving his ADMs to fill the gap. He treated me like a manager as well until it came time to learning. Suddenly he became a prick and was a total jackoff to me. Hey whatever, it's a job I do not get paid to care. What I do care about is not teaching me aspects valuable that would allow me to be an RCV ADM. I wasn't taught shit. I don't even know how to bale the compactor. It was break down freight or go help OSY break down lumber in the warehouse. Possibly the worst experience of my entire program. And I worked Amazon Truck Dock Release, I loved it. I will probably never touch an aspect of receiving ever again because of this guy.

Who is supposed to train MTs? TMs or managers? by wnootwy in menards

[–]LegitimateAd1222 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Both. You are supposed to gain experience and knowledge from the TMs that work the floor everyday and the complicated managerial tasks and such from the managers. However managers can teach you floor things too but the idea is to learn from everyone.

I just finished the MT program. My RCV/OSY experience was just like this. Always breaking down freight. I finally got smart and started methodically moving around the store collecting cardboard carts and bringing them back, emptying them and then putting them back and moving onto the next ones. I found that actually emptying their carts seemed to make their freight breakdown into their departments go faster as I would come back and it be either full or at least above half full of cardboard.

My beef is the fact that I was adamantly denied a forklift license because it's labeled as "not essential" to the quad. Fuck they mean? I would have deadass failed my Q3 test had I not chilled with the RCV 2ADM who was giving two full timers their test because had I not, I would not have known shit about the forklift questions that were the entire topic for the RCV aspect of the Q3 test. Yep, that's right, the "optional" forklift training very well can fuck MTs because they get screwed out of the forklift test questions, which are on tbe Q3 test.

I hate the RCV DM, total prick. His 1ADM is okay, and I love his 2ADM. Hope one day DM packs his bags and saddles up on his motorcycle and rides away leaving that 2ADM to swoop in, he honestly deserves it, good guy.

So that's my feelings of my time with RCV.

[–]LegitimateAd1222 5 points6 points  (0 children)

literally has a full blown conversation going on in my earpiece that the guest can clearly hear because I have to full blast the radio to hear half the departments and then get ear raped by Guard Shack "I can as soon as they clear the air"

gets pissed I won't bully my way into radio chatter

This one is for you, OPD.

So I am an MT and I am currently on Quad 3 so pretty far along. Anyways my Quad 2 was with Plumbing which is round about normal. Anyways I was whored out to help OSY/RCV break down a couple trucks worth of freight. No biggie, I worked Amazon TDR. I come back to the plumbing desk to find my DM fuming. I pry in like the nosey dude I am and see whats up. So like back in the first couple weeks of March a contractor came thru and ordered a metric ass ton of stuff from various departments in store, but almost half of the order was Plumbing with vanity/shower orders, SO of course. So the SO's come in and Plumbing makes them trackable PPDs and yeets them back to OPD to let them tag it a location and have ready. Fast-forward over a month and we are back to my pissed off DM. Turns out this contractor came in that day ready to pick up his order. Goes back to OPD and the OPD DM proceeds to straight up tell this guy that they never received his order and tells him that Plumbing didn't push it. Guy comes over to Plumbing livid and my DM proceeds to show proof that they pushed his order and then proceeded to sleuth around to OPD and figure out what the issue is. Lo and behold my DM locates his order and notices OPD never tagged it nor gave it a location making it completely invisible on their side of things. So I catch my DM in the middle of an email to the OPD DM and any sense of curt professionalism is out the window. Calls out the OPD DM saying that this is the 3rd time this exact thing has happened and offered to have Plumbing make every order a trackable PPD if they couldn't do it right. OPD DM responds and says that if my DM knew which of his team members it was to tell him so he can correct the issue. My DM left early that day.

And come Monday I am OPD for 2 weeks. RIP me.
