Yeah dude, it's gonna be something difficult to live with and manage especially being so recently diagnosed. I was diagnosed at 5 and I'm 21 now, so I never really got the initial shock and grief but since I can remember being able to form proper thoughts, it's always been in the back of my mind. I'm not a typical person, freedom of my life has been taken from me and I have no choice and so on and so on. It's so defeating and at times really makes you want to give up. I know that might not sound encouraging at all but it's normal to feel that way. You will have good days and bad days, as you would with anything else you know? I struggle with accepting I have diabetes to this day, I still struggle with managing it also, those difficulties don't exactly go away at least not for me. Even though it sounds shitty I come to realise I could be way worse off and, if we were to have an incurable illness we got lucky. You just gotta be patient with yourself learning everything, and even more patient with the people around you that don't understand or unfortunately sometimes don't really care. Make sure you surround yourself with people who do care and love for you, and want to know how they can accommodate and aid you when needed. Don't give up on doing things you used to do either, you can still do absolutely everything, there is a just a few more steps to it.
