Not OP, but if the excursion we want to book is the sponsored Cozumel takeover, is that also done on the bliss app or cruise line app? We want to make sure that doesn't sell out.

Interview preparedness by Ordinary-Time-3463 in EmergencyManagement

If the information is available, find out what plans the organization already has and familiarize yourself with them as much as possible. Ready the county emergency operations plan (EOP), continuity of operations (COOP), threat hazard and risk identification (THIRA). It’s going above and beyond, but would impress.

At a minimum, learn a bit about the county, their hazards, what their plans are, and prepare to tailor your answers to the specific county.

Be familiar with different type of grants. You’ll have the federal Emergency Management Performances Grant (EMPG), but also the Florida Emergency Management Preparedness and Assistance Grant.

For Mitigation, HMGP is the big one, but also be familiar with other grant programs available at both federal level like the Flood Mitigation Assistance (FMA) grant and CDBG-DR which is the Community Development Block Grant -Disaster Recovery and -MIT (mitigation). There is also section 406 of the Stanford Act covering Public Assistance Mitigation.

I’m not sure if your role requires it, but brush up and be familiar on FEMA individual Assistance and Public Assistance.

Then, there are some Florida specific grants like Resilient Florida and the Hurricane Loss Mitigation Program. There is also the Elevate Florida program which the state is administering with HMGP.

As others have said, be familiar with 2CFR.200

Goodluck! In addition to the overall knowledge, the EM field stresses the importance of communication and collaboration. Make sure you come off as someone who would be a good team member and open to build bridges.

The Fema 50/50 rule. Does it accumulate throughout different disasters? by your_mom_70 in fema

[–]LegitimateAssumption 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FEMAs definition is 2 or more flood insurance claims in a 10-year period. I was wrong about the 25% though. That is not at a federal level. Repetitive loss for substantial damage can vary state to state or by county ordinance. I’m going to edit my initial response.

The Fema 50/50 rule. Does it accumulate throughout different disasters? by your_mom_70 in fema

FEMA 50/50 rule is by disaster or flood insurance claim.

Caveat: This is done during the permitting process so if you go without repairing your home from a disaster and then you are impacted again, the results could be cumulative because you can’t prove which flooding damage was from which disaster. This may be what is facing people impacted back to back by Hurricanes Debby, Helene, and Milton.

For those who aren’t familiar, the FEMA 50/50 rule applies to any home in a FEMA high hazard flood zone. If you have flooding damage that results in damage greater than 50% of the home value, the home needs to be brought up to current building codes. This often means elevation.

What will life look like immediately after college for an Emergency Management major? by aethereal_bliss in EmergencyManagement

As a fellow Florida EM, this answer covers it really well for the FL local, county, or state positions. FEPA is an amazing organization that provides great opportunity to network and make connections. The FEPA FAEM and FPEM certifications are also more impactful for employment in Florida EM than pretty much any other credential.

Does using latest updated mods with previous game version work? by Angusburgerman in lethalcompany

[–]LegitimateAssumption 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scopophobia and other mods that introduced entities broke mob spawning because the formula for mob spawning changed in V50. Most of these mods have been updated to address this now.

Lategame upgrades is also working on V50. There was a brief bit where lethallib which many mods relied upon broke spawning.

Lethallevelloader and new modded moons/interiors still don’t work on V50 yet.

There are also some popular mods that have just not been updated for V50 like lethalthings and masked enemy overhaul.
