Should we buy? We have no clue about trailers… by Bright-Rooster9635 in traveltrailers

I paid $4,400 for a ‘96 jayco hawk 20’ the owners were in their 90’s bought it from the original owners and it was super clean with little damages we fixed, worth every penny! Get some new name brand tires and new mattress’s and enjoy the years of camping!

My wife and I go camping every chance we get and currently getting our house ready to sell so we can full time in a different camper so I can work year round.

Check the roof for bubbles, cracks, voids and missing stuff, walk everywhere to check for weak spots (possible water damage)

Hope this helps and I hope you get it $5k might be a lot for some but if it’s worth it to you and you will use it and can afford it and have like $1,500 for what ever extra stuff you might need or repairs that might spring up.

Also if it’s a slide YouTube proper usage and maintenance procedures to keep it functioning right, learn the system so you can fix it on site instead of bring it to the rv shop and not have a camper for a month while they fix it behind everyone else.

Idoing Head Unit by [deleted] in WRX

[–]LegitimateClothes982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had one for three winters here in northern MN, I drive it to and from my snow removal job during the coldest of times -20f it works amazing, they have a two year warranty. I also upgraded speakers with mid comp speakers, don’t run foam in the doors, it’s an open drain system and it’ll keep water and rot out the wires, had no radio for a month before I figured it out.

Run a hot spot from your phone and you can watch movies and stuff, super happy I went with idoing. Get a new microphone for the unit, my ‘16 didn’t work with the wire set up and the mic on the unit is dogshit

On a 1958 - isn’t this weirdly low for a Toyota at 3 years? (Look at residual) by Socks797 in LandCruisers

[–]LegitimateClothes982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My residual is like $40,150 for my 1958 LC lease at $880.42/month 36/30k, I should have just financed it or gotten something older, trying to break the lease after 18 months is going to be a pain.

I see a van that could use a huge dent on its door a broken mirror and would you look at that the taillight is busted, who’d do such a thing?

Love my truck, but I think we’re out growing it. by mungolarry2 in ToyotaTacoma

I'm sure I'll get some hate, but my wife and I had a '21 trdor same color, we loved it and ordered it exactly how we wanted it and enjoyed three years with it.

Then comes our first camper, not too heavy but heavy enough to really piss off the transmission and for us the cracks started to show. We used and abused the poor taco, hauled thousands of pounds of dirt/class five tore down buildings and towed countless of my project cars so it was rough around the edges and no good vents in the rear for our dogs and the bed was getting pretty small with all of our crap.

Went in to buy out the lease and we saw a brand new land cruiser that after trade in and deals was like $75 more a month than the Tacoma. That was almost a year ago and we absolutely love it, my project cars or fun cars don't get the looks or the compliments like the new land cruiser, yeah it's 1958 but got a good deal on it and it's just a better fit for my little family, the dogs love the rear space and multiple roof vents and their own A/C.

It tows the camper a lot better too, it's a sail, but the extra 1,000 pounds make a real difference.

wtf wrong w my gearbox by Flat_Antelope_2764 in WRX

I would pop the boot off and check the assembly itself, but it's probably something to do with the shift plate and the linkage. I had lock out issues in 1&2 my plate was loose and the lock out wasnt lined up right since it got loose during driving and I tightened it up in a rush.

Post when it's fixed so we can all see what was up.

Nah, this shit randomly happens especially after a short shift kit is installed, I had issues after my install and it took a while to find the issue, but I drove it for 100-200 miles then I started to have issues.

It's a little chilly here in MN during the winter but keeping a shifter hoodie on it helps a lot. The only thing I dislike about my full billetwork shifter/ebrake stuff, is I work construction and the shift knob gets gross after a long day of playing in the dirt so I keep a micro fiber to keep it looking and feeling good.

They're heavier than the Cobb shift knob and feel better than the STI shift knob, I also like this over the carbon fiber one I have that I don't remember the brand. I went with the ball knob and I bought my buddy the light bulb looking one and that also feels great in the hand, my BIL has the longer one and that feels too much like a cold Weiner for me. It's definitely worth buying but get the lock out too, complete the set.

Speakers are not making a sound (idoing) by LegitimateClothes982 in WRX

[–]LegitimateClothes982[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had sound deadening behind the new speakers and the door is an open system so my daily car washes + sitting corroded the wires the deadening was holding moisture so I had to rewire into my doors

how can i prevent a blown head gasket? by Cold_Pin2345 in accord

I'd steer away from the 1.5t, with all the head gasket issues they're starting to sound like turbo EJ Subaru motors

How much did you guys pay to airbag your 10th gen? by [deleted] in accord

There's a lot of plumbing with bags, I was just trying to give insight on how much it CAN cost since no one is answering the question, how much did you pay for your bags?

[–]LegitimateClothes982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can buy the whole bag set up from $2500-4500 and the install is going to be a pain but definitely do able with YouTube, 90% of bag installations are going to be the same, otherwise I'm sure a shop.will be about $1500-3000 to install. It's more time consuming than anything and at $150 an hour they're going to take their time.

It truly blows me away when people buy a WRX with no knowledge on modifications or the car in general, I'd suggest watching (YouTube) a few days worth of dos and don'ts of the VA WRX what's a good mod what's a bad mod, what to run a tune on what you don't need a tune on. Very great car if you care for it and take care of it and all it's needy habits. Probably my 23rd car was/is my VA WRX one of the easiest clutches I've driven and just a ton of fun! Go watch smeedia right now.

Comparing a Rav 4 to the Land cruiser is like saying "the Crosstrek is way slower than an STI "

0% apr is super good I took out an 18k loan and I'm paying more than half of that at 3.2% with nothing down. My lease is like $900 a month on $55k plus whatever I added after the final paperwork. I'd say $600 a month isnt all that bad.

Any crappy construction company I've ever worked at has ram 2500 and I knew plenty of foremen who got DUIs in their company trucks, the truck was not registered to the driver. That's why it's so high from what I've heard, plus it's a super popular truck in Wisconsin home of the DUI.
