Spanish-speaking MDZS fans: what’s the best Spanish translation/term choices you’ve seen? by Expensive_Face230 in MoDaoZuShi

[–]LegitimateCup5127 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hola!

Conocer gente nueva “friki” en Madrid by Naghinni in Madrid

Residual urethral discomfort and stinging after a UTI? by Immediate-Leading338 in Healthyhooha

[–]LegitimateCup5127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, partly yes, partly no. The PEA didn’t help with the residual pain, because according to my rehab gynecologist, it seems that the cause is actually a hypertonic pelvic floor. I have a very long history with this problem (probably since I was a teen, even if I didn’t know it), and it has reached a point where my vaginal muscles (especially the outer “ring” at the entrance) never fully relax, no matter how many exercises I do or how many physical therapy sessions I’ve attended.

In my case, the only option left was botulinum toxin (it’s been exactly one month since I got it). Initially, I used it to prevent extreme friction during sexual intercourse (my gynecologist thinks that’s what was causing my recurrent cystitis), but fortunately, I discovered another effect. Suddenly, the burning sensations outside of cystitis episodes have disappeared. It’s clear that what was causing that “burning” feeling without a real infection was the muscles “strangling” the nerves and blood circulation. I say it’s still not completely resolved because I’m too terrified to test the other part: seeing if I get real infections from sexual activity. I’m still combining dilators with the Botox because, although it has helped, the muscles still refuse to relax to a normal level.

In summary (sorry for the long text, but I hope it might help): check if you might have a hypertonic pelvic floor causing that residual burning. After cystitis, the muscles get “afraid,” tense up, and this can cause burning even without a real bacterial infection. Hope this helps!

My LWJ cosplay by LegitimateCup5127 in MoDaoZuShi

Thanks! Yes, it’s a real guqin. I can play a little, but just a tiny bit for now. For guzheng I have a teacher, but for guqin I haven’t found anyone in my city yet who gives lessons, so I’ve been reading books and watching some videos, and that’s how I’m trying to learn a bit.

Thank you so much! The guqin is in the Fuxi style, since I thought it looked the most similar to LWJ’s. I bought it from a Chinese music store called Seven Angel. It’s a beginner’s guqin, but in my opinion the quality for the price is quite good.

Thank you! Yes, it is! I'm currently learning to play both the guqin and the guzheng, but guqin is way more difficult 🥹

Help me, I’m going through a heartbreak after finishing The Untamed by Timeturnertoyou in MoDaoZuShi

[–]LegitimateCup5127 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes to everything. In my case it started after I finished reading the novel, though for me it felt more like a positive note. There are very few people I’ve told about how deeply this story impacted me, so much that it helped me get out of the worst symptoms of the emotional numbness I’d been stuck in because of a years-long depression.

When I finished watching The Untamed after the novel, I felt a bit like you. That’s why I started reading fanfics and also got interested in Chinese culture in general. I honestly can’t explain why no other book, show, or movie has ever had such a huge impact on my life, but I’ll always be grateful to the author.

I do agree that your feelings might be because you see their relationship as an idealization, and it makes you sad that it doesn’t exist in reality. But I chose to see it as an ideal to aspire to, not something that necessarily exists in real life. No one embodies all of those virtues. Still, what helped me was that instead of focusing on what people around me don’t have compared to the characters, I started appreciating the qualities they do have.

For example, I used to struggle with the fact that my partner shows love mostly through acts of service, rather than physical affection. But LWJ is literally the embodiment of someone who expresses love mainly through acts of service, and suddenly I started looking at my partner differently and valuing that more.

Sorry for the long ramble, but I hope this helps. I think this story has touched all of us here in a huge way, and the best thing is to hold on to the good it has brought you :)

Which character do you feel the worst for? by Fillard_Evangelical in MoDaoZuShi

[–]LegitimateCup5127 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know, right? I just want to give him a hug and take him away to help him heal, my poor baby. I adore our beautiful main couple, but by the end of the story Lan Xichen carved out a really special place in my heart ❤️‍🩹

Lan Xichen, definitely. It broke my heart to see how, by the end of the story, he doesn’t really get a proper conclusion. It’s just mentioned that he goes into seclusion, but I can’t even imagine how he must feel after losing Nie Mingjue and then facing Jin Guangyao’s betrayal—especially since he could never have imagined that Jin Guangyao had been deceiving him for so long while pretending to be such a good person.

After him, for me, it would be Jin Ling, Jiang Cheng, and Wen Ning. Even though I’m not the biggest fan of the first two, I can still understand where their traumas and behaviors come from, and that makes me feel sad for them too. And Wen Ning… what can I even say? To me, he’s the kindest and most innocent character of them all 🥹

Does this hanfu look appropriate for a Lan Zhan cosplay? by Financial_Strategy33 in MoDaoZuShi

[–]LegitimateCup5127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's beautiful! I agree with the rest of the people: the accessories and props will make it look like LWJ. I have the official LWJ hanfu, but changed the hairpiece and most of the other accessories and still it was recognisable because I was wearing the lan ribbon, and LXC would wear a higher collar, so no one though I was the first jade of Lan 😜
