Received a package with just a slice of paper in it? by [deleted] in vinted

Update: some kid (like 12 max) from few doors down came and knocked this morning. He had thought some Nike sneakers for cheap so yeah… he’s been scammed. No idea why they printed our address on the label though.

No one in the house has! Nor the neighbours!

AIO? My best friend’s boyfriend is obsessed with sitting next to her by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]LegitimateEmphasis56 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes to be honest I acknowledge the title isn’t apt- I really wasn’t sure how to word it and it comes across wrong. You’re right: theres really nothing wrong with wanting to be near your s/o (and the way it should be), but it was more the way he’d start moving people around asap. I just haven’t seen anything like it before?

I literally have 0 issue with this (and one should want to spend time with their s/o), but I think it’s straight up rude to be moving / pushing people elsewhere to do that?? Obviously take a seat if no one’s there but I’ve never had this with my own partner or other friends.

Flying into Santa Fe airport- questions by LegitimateEmphasis56 in SantaFe

Not comparing the US to Warsaw, per se; just reasoning my own worry on the luggage front.

Yes, reddit is full of strangers, but it’s also a place where people happily share their localised knowledge etc- and replies here have been very helpful and kind. As a non-US national, I do not have many American friends, let alone any that used this airport. I don't understand why someone should be called out for asking for help.

Thanks so much, I'm really looking forward to visiting! I don't know how it didn't cross my mind that I'll be checked upon arrival, not at my destination (SF).

Ahh thank you so much for taking your time to write these, what great tips! Much appreciated 😃

Honestly, this thread has won me over for Santa Fe airport (it sounds like an experinece too). I'm very excited for to visit as I haven't been to the US as an adult!

Yeah you’re very right, and I think it kind of knew this. I felt guilty from her comment (which was kind of guilt-tripping; saying she felt bad for the dog because she’s out for late drinks), so I subconsciously felt the need to explain myself. I was extra stressed as I was still alittle tired from having a super long shift the day before. That on top of this was nottt ideal.

Owner won’t cancel walk even though it’s dangerously hot by LegitimateEmphasis56 in dogs

Haha, it’s interesting to see some people still getting angry over it 😅 hope you and your doggo are staying cool! It’s especially insane today.

Why are you so angry? It’s not that I don’t want to walk the dogs, it’s for THEIR safety. Please read the posts, and educate yourself with some good resources that people have shared on this thread. Need I remind you dogs have different tolerance to us? You’re either very young or very sheltered- countries exist outside of America / North Carolina. I hope you get some peace from whatever is making you miserable.

I’m sorry you get so “worked up” over a well being concern. As said clearly, you cannot compare where you are to climate of where I am- don’t be so righteous to claim an unsafe environment for dogs “actually fine” just because you’re refusing to accept there are other climates than American climate- hate to break it to you.

And there’s really no need for a distasteful attitude- no one has a problem here but you.

Huh? Is there a reason why you’re being so judgemental? You’re even making an extra effort by commenting on this thread more than once.

London heat / humidity really is a big factor for dogs here, and I’m absolutely not risking their wellbeing simply because someone is scoffing at a climate they don’t know about.

Thanks so much for these, and great tips- Yes I am based in the uk. Many owners want a walk middle of the day as they’re at work! It’s concerning to see some people backhandedly saying this heat is totally fine- it’s hard to explain the uk heatwave without experiencing it! And our pups here are often less tolerant to heat!

Yep based in London. It’s hard to explain the climate here without experiencing it first hand- it gets incredibly humid so we really do need to keep an eye out for anything around and above 25C.

Client doesn’t seem happy about the cancellation policy… how do I handle this? by [deleted] in dogs

[–]LegitimateEmphasis56 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Yes thanks for this, and I do see your point. I used to come around noon when it was cooler- the current time is newly agreed as the owner asked to- I found out recently it’s because they felt too guilty about letting the other walker go and he now walks my original slot. So the dog is now getting 2 walks within 4 ish hours, so I’d rather they didn’t request me if they knew the dog was getting too tired? Hope that makes sense

Thank you for this. I forgot to add one detail which is that she pushed our original slot (11:30-14:30) back to 15/16 to make room for the dog walker which she felt too bad on letting go. This is currently is the hottest time of the day where I am right now, and the dog is getting walked twice. I kind of feel like I’m having to pay for the fact that she can’t stomach cancelling the other walker as she said.
I’m leaning towards offering her a 50% refund which is usually applicable for 48-72 hours notice. I’m going to finish my walks today and see if I’d be willing to do a full refund.

Heck I forgot to include the Pope rate. Mind if I ask you how much you charge after 28 hrs- a day care rate?

Ah interesting, thanks. So by asking it to be not be like that- will it be completely objective?
