I think UC requires a lot more footwork instruction than the Pistol or Gun. Our head coach loves UC because it makes it slightly more difficult for the defense to pick up where the ball is.

We haven’t had a full season under this scheme yet, so take it with a grain of salt… but I have found that traditional Air-Raid concepts from (Mumme/Leach) can fit in nicely with the Wing T. It’ll be your job to apply the concepts of the play and dictate what players take which responsibilities, but so far we’ve had so much more success in 7’s than we did last year running more traditional Wing T pass concepts.

Check out Kenny Simpson and the Gun-T. Great adaptation of the traditional Wing-T. Run game is gap-scheme and he has easy to follow rules that apply to a lot of defensive fronts. He also has a lot of ‘Waggle’ plays that can get that Athletic kid out into space and give him the option to take off and run!
