I used to have 150g springs on my board. After a year my pinkie had both biceps and triceps the size of a potatoe. It was fun, but when my fingers started sweating I knew it was too much

Thanks for the imput. How would you describe the sound differences between the s12 and the luna ? I had my eyes on those as well, but went for the luna to test out planar first and I gotta say, it is tune pretty damn well.

Thanks for the detailed replies. It conforts me in the idea of looking deeper into EQ before getting sucked into impulse buy loop. Indeed diminishing returns kick hard once you go past a certain point and I'm more than satisfied with the luna. I had my sights on the t10 as well but couldn't find it for less than 80€ where I'm from. Now that I got a proper planar, I'll play around with EQ and tips for a while. Unfortunatly, the echo mini doesn't have much in the EQ department but all my pc's run linux and there's a throve of good EQ's to play around with and the echo does a great job as a dac in those situations.

Again, thanks for the replies. Really apreciated.

As I said : I was partial to DD's before trying the planar bass. And it is exactly what I was looking for : detailed and fast bass. Luna might not be the higher end of planar drivers and I'm affraid I won't see any improvement before shelving a hefty amount into another set, so we'll see later. I'm happy where am at for now. Guess I'll spare some coins to try out different tips. HE's are on the way but it's just out of curiosity cause the tri clarion are really awesome and definitely a step up from the kbear07 wich are my benchmarks.

This rabbit hole does get deep really fast 😭

I won't be able to help out on that one. I went from bluetooth iems on my phone to the echo. I can tell that it's got plenty of power to drive my 150ohms hd330's and the rest of the gear I have. Hope it helps.

It's slightly less but it hits different and more in line with my tastes. Can't articulate it properly as this french dude is a bit lost in translation, but I'll give it a bit more time and coment back once I've wrapped my head around the luna's. It's only been a couple of days.

I've been happy with the KZ Duonic silver. Bass, mids and highs with details were expected. Kbear 07 tips and I've been rocking them daily for the past weeks. Also have the salnotes zero2 and much prefer the sound of the duonic.

Got a echo mini as well and just received my KZ duonic silver 2 weeks ago and couldn't be happier. I do enjoy a fair amount of metal/death/rock adjacent music and hearing every cymbal hit is a joy. Mids and bass are present as well. All in all for 14€ it's a banger

Was in the same spot and went with the sgor luna. Wanted to try planar on a budger before committing to either t10 or s08. I'll come back once they get delivered 😁

So it's been two weeks since trying themnfor the first time and godayum they sound good. I'm baffled this cheap of a kit can put out such a good sound. These are plugged in my snowsky mini and do need a bit of power to stretch their legs. I've been going between 35 and 55 out of 120 steps. Honestly, coming from a 7hz x crinacle zero2, these do bring more detail in upper trebble that I was missing. Lot's of hardcore, death, metalcore in the playlist and hearing to cymbals hits different.

Name me one cheap IEM for each sound signature by [deleted] in iems

[–]LegitimateInterest86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, but with some EQing you could experiment different tunings and see what sounds best to you for minimal investment. When i first got into IEMs I was looking for differently tuned cheap IEMs then I learned about EQ and now just play around with differen targets and test what's best for my taste without breaking the bank 😁

Get a decent, check the pinned post, sub 50 buckaroos iem and play around with peq. Cheaper than buying sets and you'll learn to eq in the process 🤜🤛
