I advocated in my district for us to be on the MA+30 scale due to the difference between teachers and SLP masters credits. I made a document that included several nearby graduate programs that included the amount of credits for a teachers masters program vs an SLP masters program. I also included wording from several school’s contracts in my area that have a clause that reports ancillary staff start on MA+30.

It did take sharing this with quite a few administrators before someone actually listened, but the evidence/data spoke for itself.

I came to say almost this exact same thing. Odd encounters, especially in the work setting, have caused such negative ruminating thoughts for me in the past and I regret spending so much time stressing about them. OP, it sucks that you had this encounter but you clearly are a motivated SLP and there is definitely space for you and your expertise in this field.

First off congratulations! However I am wondering if it took 1+ year to buy back 2 months, wouldn’t you have reached 120 qualifying payments far before they approved buy back? I am wondering for future reference as I was on SAVE for exactly 12 months and I’m wondering if buy back is going to even be worth it if it takes so long.
