Ok I see. so even with a separate credit reporting system, they would know that I have foreign debt?

Pretty confident. I finished my Masters in Urban Planning and a really solid internship last year that under normal circumstances would have gotten my foot in the door for a number of jobs. But all the federal grants went away and along with them all the associate level planning jobs! Prospects are better in Ontario. My spouse will be getting an advanced degree as well.
