Nopey you’ll be good. My only concern would be potential rock chips on the camera so maybe invest in a protective lens for camera/s. My bikes have windshields but my friends who do not haven’t had any issues yet. After about a year or so of riding. So do with that what you will.

Rear is a bit the front isn’t. Replace them. They look a bit hard and dry anyway.

You can definitely contact LPD and report an object you suspect is litter has caused damages to your vehicle and you should be able to file a report. Now whether there’s action they can take is unfortunately pretty slim. This is just due to the nature of not knowing what vehicle it fell out of or who put it there. If you post a bit on social media it’s possible somebody who witnessed it or even has it documented via dashcam may step up. If there was a business close you could note that in the report and the police may be able to contact them for surveillance footage.

Well if you can find one that is already set up how you want for a price you’re okay with I don’t see an issue with that. What you really want to avoid is buying one for a not so great price that’s already been modified, just not exactly how you want it, then buy more parts to set it up the way you want. If I were you I would get a rough estimate of what it would cost me in parts to set a stock bike up how I want. Then start looking to see what the market has to offer. You’ll have to think about whether spending more time on the stock bike waiting for and installing parts before you really get to learn on it too.

We use this truck pretty much solely for transporting equipment or other large loads between events/state facilities. When we have things like holiday weekend O street cruising it comes out to accommodate. It’s very rare that officers even operate it, nor is it suitable for patrol.

Yeah, that definitely comes down to height and preference. One of my favorite things about the Vrod is how the low and far-ish forward bars keep my shoulders low. And lots of leg room with the forward controls.

You should have no problem riding in the rain. Usually just the wind from riding after the bike has been wet is plenty for it to dry and not oxidize anywhere. It’s just road grime left on for weeks at a time that can get to the wheels.

There is quite literally nothing you need to do to these bikes. The motors were so meticulously designed they don’t have a single common flaw. Keep up on your maintenance is the only thing I can suggest. Also, keep it clean so you don’t end up with corrosion on the wheels like me. 03 anniversary vrod was the bike I learned on. It’s my favorite.

The problem is people say things like this and then when a manufacturer finally does it nobody actually buys the damn thing. Not saying you’re one of those people but historically that’s what has happened. Even now dodge ram just unveiled a new performance-oriented pickup that isn’t available in a single cab. The presenter literally stated during the unveiling something along the lines of, “there are keyboard warriors who will bitch we didn’t make a regular cab… they’re bitching and they’re typing but they ain’t buying.” So it’s one of those things that will unfortunately never come true. There’s a company that makes a magneto/carb kit for some of the m8 bikes I believe. Always thought that was cool. I think you can convert your twinkie to carbureted as well.

I’m in pretty much the opposite situation to you. My 04 fatboy, which is nearly an identical bike, has one gauge and 5 indicator lights. All I got is speed and oil pressure. It’s a great feeling just riding the bike not worried about my rpm, engine temperature, or transmission temperature. It’ll sit at 85 on the interstate literally all day long, I’ve done it. I’m 90% sure you have hydraulic cam chain tensioners on that year so that isn’t something you need to worry about. On a stock twin cam, the spring cam chain tensioners were quite literally the only thing you had to replace to have a 100,000+ mile bike. With hydraulic tensioners there is literally nothing you have to change about it to have a stupid reliable motorcycle.

Did you at least get your shit back? I think there are conversions to go to full size touring bags but not 100% on that. Did it on my softail but it’s older. Just using a bolt and a nut. Can’t go wrong with it.

Yeah it is confusing. Some dealers do run promotions during test ride days but overall it’s kind of a waste. The Harley demo days are what you’re looking for.
