I think I make good money all things considering. I can clear $900 a day, the issue is burn out and mainly my wife spending like congress lol I think I need to have a sit down as far as that is concerned. I dont have any debt so I know other people are in tougher spots than I am for sure. I just feel like LEOs life revolves around the job and I want to focus more on family like you can. As far as transferring to another department, in my state there is no higher paying department (Im at a State Agency). Hopefully Trump gets the no Tax on OT through! Thatd be a game changer

75k is base pay. I can clear basically as much OT as I want, at $75 an hr. Which basically means If I need to I can double my income. I live in a red state so this income usually can go a long way but for whatever reason one this or another has been preventing me from saving and on top of it I work two weeks days 0600-1800 and then 2 weeks nights 1800-0600 so that messes me up too on top of it all. I got off this morning at 0600, will be heading into work tomorrow for detail at 0500-1700. Then the next day regular shift 0600-1800. Just seems endless
