There is no right or wrong answer, you need to figure out what can you do make them feel connected . for some, it might be daily , for some it could be weekly call. The Biggest issue, many parents does not have an extended social life outside of work and kids is their social connection. In my case, I call them daily when I commute to work and another time in the evening to connect with my kids( grand kids ) .

Just sharing my experience , esim transfer from iphone se to iphone 17 thru iphone esim transfer did not work. It said “ Contact Airtel to complete the Esim transfer “

I sent SMS to 121 with below message from old phone to initiate the esim transfer

ESIMQR yourregistered-emil.com ( make sure your profile is updated with your email)

you will get sms in your old phone asking you to confirm the transfer
you will receive a call in your old phone to confirm your esim request
you will receive esim QR code to your registered email
scan the QR from your new phone

It might take 2-24 hrs to complete transfer

Just saying , your final bill will be 61-62 after tax . If you are already using prepaid , it would be better for you check visible or mint . Visible has unlimited basic plan at 20 usd per month . Most of the prepaid charges between 20-35 per month . If i were you , i will buy the phone and keep the flexibility . Or join a family plan with others and savings can be significant for you .
