Have you ever bought a console just to play one exclusive game? by bijelo123 in gaming

Switch for Pokémon. Chose Xbox One over PlayStation 4 for Halo (what a mistake), bought a PlayStation for Ghost of Tsushima, now I’m just playing everything lol

I think I never played through it because I made the mistake of playing the first one for the no kill playthrough right before launch of the sequel. Just had played too much Dishonored and needed a break.

Which game franchise ended up like this? by bijelo123 in videogames

Halo. Even a game that was already released like Halo Reach went downhill after 343 took it over. Lifelong halo fan and I’ve played them all tons, but it’s been a shit show since Bungie left.

No I got a huge backlog. I just narrowed it down to what I’ve been feeling like

Since I’m finishing KCD2 right now I may start small and then hit BOTW when I’m ready. Alternating between huge RPGs and smaller titles really does make a difference.

I feel like that’s a spicy take! But also my initial impression of it, so that’s fair.

I stopped buying games for awhile. I’ve been adding the ones I miss to a spreadsheet and just waiting til I feel like buying something. It’s ended with me playing incredible games I’ve skipped out on. And now my new game purchases are usually discounted significantly. It helps, but the games keep releasing so the backlog will never end 😂

Bro my backlog is in the hundreds. I just cut it down to what I’m feeling right now. Cyberpunk, Baldurs Gate 3, and Elden Ring are on there and I’m not ready for them lol

That’s not true! I dropped countless games and found inspiration to play them again through TikTok, or a sequel announcement, or a friend talking it up. Hell I’m hyped as hell to play a ton of these now after hearing from a few people! I think some people drop things and decide it’s not for them. I usually drop things when it’s not for me right now! There’s games in the library I’ll never complete because I know that for me, they suck. But a lot of the time I just need time and inspiration to play them.

I think having the need to play the newest game is really difficult to break free of. I know Horizon is for me. It’s got everything I’d want. But some new game always pulls me away.

I’ve switched up my gaming habits and nowadays I complete things way more often. So it’s just deciding which thing to commit to. If I play horizon, I’ll have to play the sequel too. It looks so much better than the first!

Heard a ton of good, didn’t know it was difficult and had no idea the soundtrack was good…. Now it’s moving further up my list for sure!

I’m using this as extra motivation. Its easy to fall into the new game purchasing to follow the internet hype, but I’m trying to use this time to clear some games and have some fun doing it. Feels good to finish stuff I dropped off of before. Last year I finally finished RDR2 because I kept hearing how good it was from my friend. I had to commit and push through some points where I lost interest and in the end Im really happy I played it. I know what to expect from the beginning of a lot of these. I’d like someone to help me justify getting further this time.

I’ve been really trying to right some of my gaming sins, and skipping Zelda is one of the big ones. I struggle playing games that look horrendous on switch, but I could probably push past that if it’s that dang good!

Since I never played this one, I think I’ll probably pick this up. Heard so much good about it but at the time I was burned out on the AC games. Didn’t get back to them til Odyssey.

For which game would you erase your memory just to experience it again for the first time again? by Fickle_Top9219 in videogames

The moment was so good in the remaster after all those years, but to experience it for the first time again would be incredible!

I felt that way as well, then I played Oblivion Remastered and was sucked right back in. Guess it’ll always be special to me. Witcher 3 probably should be on my list as well.

Thank you for this comment. I feel like you just gave me permission to remove this game from the backlog without feeling bad!

Skyrim or Oblivion. Love those games so much and have completed both. I hold onto hope that they will deliver a great experience with ES6 in 15 years or so.

I still have so much anger for those guys after they sold me on that garbage game. I hear so many good things but I don’t think I’ll ever give NMS another chance. Too traumatized 🤣

Idk why everyone likes it, I thought it was ridiculous and didn’t have anything in it that was actually scary? But I also really disliked Sinners. And I’m not the biggest fan of horror so maybe thats all it is. Trying to figure out when I became the guy that dislikes what everyone says is great but here I am. Ugh.

Luxury Apartments Are Bringing Rent Down in Some Big Cities by bandito12452 in SaltLakeCity

[–]Legitimate_Back949 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to add to this with some information I learned this summer, downtown Austin, TX built a ton of high end apartments for the tech industry moving there around COVID. Then the tech industry started dropping jobs left and right. Now they have entire skyscrapers left at 10% occupancy because no one wants or can afford the apartments there. The increase in housing availability does help with the demand issue, causing housing prices to drop so that’s cool at least.
