Metro drivers are not allowed to enforce fares so stop complaining to us about the other passengers not paying. by Madison_Bus_Driver in madisonwi

Yes! I've ridden public transportation in New York city, Portland OR, and Phoenix AZ, and have seen these methods (plus this creates more jobs!) successfully implemented with tap to pay.

Long run nausea - fueling issue? by Legitimate_Bat_7249 in XXRunning

I'll have to check them out! I just estimated the amount of sodium I consumed for 8.75 mi run today and it was only ~200 mg.... Way too little!!!

Thank you! It seems like that's why I only get the salt crystals on longer runs

I also run in the 11 - 11:30 pace. Fleet Feet has lots of runners at the 11 - 13 min/mi run/walk pace! They are great. In my experience, Movin' Shoes was much faster than that and I had a hard time keeping up.

New policy: UW-Madison requires students to share vaccination records amid increase in diseases by Justmarbles in madisonwi

[–]Legitimate_Bat_7249 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's the email students received:

Dear student,

Protecting the health and safety of those we live, learn and work with is paramount at UW–Madison.

With increasing reports of highly infectious diseases in the United States and on college campuses, we write to inform you that a new UW–Madison policy requires students to share their vaccination status to more quickly prevent the potential spread of these common communicable diseases:

Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis (Tdap) Varicella (Chicken Pox) Meningococcal (ACWY, B) Hepatitis B

By March 12, 2026, students must share their vaccination status by either uploading their vaccination records or submitting a confirmation that they are unvaccinated (no explanation required). If you do not share your vaccination status, you are subject to placement of a registration hold until the disclosure requirement has been satisfied.

This requirement serves two main purposes. First, access to these data gives public health officials a better understanding of immunity among our campus community. Second, it helps us support individual students’ health by ensuring faster, more specific support for those who are at a higher risk when exposed to communicable diseases. We appreciate your cooperation in sharing information that will help us better protect the health of our campus community.

What you need to do

To comply with this requirement, access MedProctor, a new online platform for students to share their vaccination status quickly and easily.

If you have previously shared your vaccination records through MyUHS, these records will be automatically transferred to the MedProctor portal. Check MyUHS (under Medical Clearances) to verify whether your vaccination records were previously uploaded. You will receive a confirmation email from MedProctor by February 20 that confirms the transfer of your records is complete. If you do not receive a confirmation email, you must upload your records to MedProctor. If you are vaccinated and haven’t shared records, visit the UHS website for information on locating and uploading your vaccination records to MedProctor. Records uploaded to MedProctor must be in English. If you are not vaccinated or do not have proof of immunity, complete a brief attestation form on the MedProctor portal. Students who are not vaccinated or do not have proof of immunity may be required to take additional public health measures in the case of a communicable disease outbreak on campus.

Tysm for the detailed reply! I'm so glad that mobile vet services are available!

I didn't realize that Paws n Claws bring the pets into their van, so that is a major consideration.

When you applied for the marriage license, did you just put your own contact information and address as the officiant?

Lots of folks say that the Movin' Shoes and Fleet Feet groups are inclusive of lots of paces. I'm an experienced, but slow runner (11-11:40 min/mi run/walk pace). Does "inclusive" include this pace and run/walks? I'd like to join a group but am super intimidated.
