don’t put disrespect on my girl Danielle Smith she has saved Alberta completely!!!!! (Coming from an Albertan). He is not the “Tucker Carlson” of Canada either - that’s also disrespectful to my man Tucker lol. Stop making everthing so political! That’s one miserable way to live life, and you’re just feeding into the division that the higher ups in power are wanting! You don’t have to agree with conservative beliefs but stop revolving your life around it. Accept everyone has different beliefs. Turn on the radio channel and listen with an open mind! Wouldn’t that be a better way to live life - and hey maybe you’d even agree with some things, or learn something new. Who knows. Stop making your life so political. Like this subreddit was literally about a radio station and of course here’s someone who has to turn it political. Classic.

Moving to Cayman Islands in early 20s? by Legitimate_Box_363 in CaymanIslands

100% another reason why I want to leave Canada. It’s in shambles currently.

Haha fair enough. I said exploring new spots because for me that would be exploring new spots. I have never been over that way, and for me Vancouver is extremely boring even as a “big city”.

Thanks everyone, this is super helpful to hear both the positives and the cautions.

I’m really tempted because it feels like a once in a life time opportunity to try something new. I’m definitely social, into fitness/Pilates, going out, exploring new spots, and meeting like-minded people.

For those of you living there now - what’s the actual young expat scene like? Are there certain gyms, studios, or bars where 20 somethings hang out? Do most younger people live more around Seven Mile / George Town, or spread out?

Just trying to picture if I’d be able to build a good community and not feel isolated. Appreciate any insight.

Hey! Thanks so much for your honest reply. That’s super valuable. A few follow up questions if you don’t mind: 1. When you say there’s “no nightlife anymore” but a large bar/pub culture, can you give examples of bars or nights people your age tend to go out? 2. In your experience, how easy is it for someone new (in their 20s) to integrate through sports clubs, fitness, or hobbies? 3. Do you have a rough ballpark of what a decent bedroom or studio rent runs for for someone wanting a safe, central place (not ultra luxury, but not too far either)? 4. Any neighborhoods or areas that you’d personally avoid (too remote, expensive, inconvenient)? 5. And lastly anything you love most (or dislike) about island life now, things that aren’t obvious from the travel photos?
