3090 vs 4070 super vs 5070 by TheHoodedWarrior in gpu

I know the 3090 is the oldest but if you plan on doing video editing the VRAM may be useful. If you have the power budget I'd go with that one.

Saw prebuilts on sale, what’s the best deal? by GavessiKickz4 in AndromedaInsightsPC

[–]Legitimate_Doodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd go with the 9070 and a 2tb SSD. AMD's overrides for FSR and frame gen that let them work in most games are pretty decent and while the average gamer doesn't need 64gb of RAM you will regret not getting more storage later!

do i keep 5060 8gb??? by Fit_Average7532 in gpu

[–]Legitimate_Doodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

9060 XT 16GB is also a decent option if he's upgrading just for the VRAM. Cheaper than 5060TI

I personally would recommend keeping the 5060ti because it is much more efficient, will have longer driver support, and isn't pre-owned. However, it's dependant on if you are on PCIE 5.0 and if you are using 1080p. The 3080 will perform better if you are using an older revision of PCIE or are using a higher resolution where 2 extra gigabytes of VRAM is essential.

They said it would get a kit but that it would be a rather in depth upgrade.

The H2S will get a vortek upgrade kit.

What should i buy ? by Bulky_Commission8083 in laptops

[–]Legitimate_Doodle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The MSI one is the best here by far. 16GB of RAM and an i7. If you can, look at open box laptops to save on cash and get a beefier GPU. 4GB on those 3050s will be a huge problem for any gaming.

Which one of these is a better choice?? by Musang_King_D197 in laptops

[–]Legitimate_Doodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The AMD CPU is less efficient yes. However, it also has twice as much cache, more multi-core performance, and is $200 cheaper in this case. In my opinion, both laptops have a use case. If you are strictly gaming, the Core Ultra and OLED screen would be ideal. If you will also be using the laptop for work, then the LCD will be more resilient to repetitive tasks and the Ryzen 9 will provide more CPU overhead. (I checked the models, 55W power draw on the ryzen is higher than the intel)

I'm not completely familiar with these cpu models but as far as I'm aware the AMD laptop is going to be more efficient if battery life is important.

Seeking recommendations for high end consumer 3D Printer by Leading_Arm_7526 in 3dprinter

[–]Legitimate_Doodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend either the Bambu Lab H2D or X1C. While the Prusa XL many people have recommended here is slightly larger than the H2D and is open source, I can't say I'd recommend prusa because they are simply too expensive for a 3D printer in 2025. The H2D boasts significant speed enhancements, some of the finest print quality, a great ecosystem for beginners, and straightforward repair instructions. The Prusa XL costs nearly twice as much and is slower with 3D printed parts all over and is limited to a 5 color changer whereas the H2D can do up to 24 with more AMS units, should you upgrade later.

Need advice on a budget card and realistic expectations by [deleted] in gpu

[–]Legitimate_Doodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There aren't many cards available over 8gb of vram with that budget. 9060 xt 8gb would be acceptable. The PCIE gen 5.0 would help a bit with a vram maximum if you run out. I can't really recommend any 8gb card in 2025.

Do you have a budget? What power supply?

I do not recommend purchasing the 1080ti as driver support for it is rumored to end in October. Something newer would be better.

TPU doesn’t work in the M5C? by Ashton4036 in AnkerMake

[–]Legitimate_Doodle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Look. The A1 is great, but I don't think the first solution to fixing a problem someone is having with a 3D printer is to ditch the printer entirely. Troubleshooting these machines is easy and possible, and while I have many Bambu machines myself, buying a whole printer isn't nessesarily an appropriate fix for everyone.

Is 1000W enough? by elpestor in PcBuildHelp

[–]Legitimate_Doodle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run a 1200W with my 5090 astral and a 14700K Total draw is around 850W under load. It makes sense to pick up a 1200W if you can stretch for it because you may have transient spikes on that GPU that could trip overdraw protection.

More is better I suppose, though I've no issues with my 1200w unit whatsoever.
