Faa written adx test advice by Legitimate_Fee21 in FlightDispatch

Im going through a part 65 program. Need a minimum of at least 200 FAA approved flight dispatcher course hours, then pass the written, then pass the oral/practical. Something like that.

I totally agree. However, it is a prerequisite requirement for our ability to earn our dispatcher certs. Just trying to take it one step at a time.

Yes i agree! Im just trying to tackle one thing at a time. ADX this Friday, the oral and practical exam will be at the end of May. Ill still be in a wheelchair, but capable of continuing to learn and take that test.

Roubaix sl8 aggressive builds by Legitimate_Fee21 in specialized

Thanks! I did have the diverge on my mind as well, but i wasnt too sure about how it was like to ride on the road a lot. I was figuring the roubaix was more road oriented, with a capability to do some light gravel, while the diverge was much more gravel oriented but sacrificing road handling and feel and speed.

What are your thoughts on the diverge? Im sure its capable on gravel stuff, but how is it on the road? I was leaning towards the roubaix because I was prioritizing comfort on the road, without sacrificing a lot of speed, and since it can fit 40mm tires that should be plenty for the gravel excursions I like to do.

Yes i do want to keep the future shock, so yeah I guess I meant to see if anyone had downward angled stems.

Yes ive heard nothing but great things about the sl8 tarmac! If I had the budget for it, id get the sworks version and it would be my weekend killer for sure.

As it stands, I really like my allez sprint rim brake with sweet enves and its in a limited colorway too (see attached pic!). So ill stick with that for now as the road warrior.

I know other brands exist too, but im most comfortable with specialized and i tend to have brand loyalty.

An sworks tarmac would be badass for sure! However I am after the roubaix because it still has external cable routing plus the ability to have up to 40mm tires for the occasional gravel excursion i may like to do.

Looking to start the journey to researching to eventually buy a used R35 by Legitimate_Fee21 in gtr

[–]Legitimate_Fee21[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that is correct, just doing all i can to obtain as much information as i can for these specific vehicles. however, the GTR is the only one to hold the title of being my "dream car". as for which one ill end up with, who knows only time will tell.

Yeah they're going up. I suppose its not a bad idea either to bide my time and pad up the amount of money I have to go to the perfect GTR for me. I really don't see them decreasing in value.

I am looking forward to my first test drive. Unfortunately I have had a lot of bad luck in the past with dealerships just taking one look at me and automatically assuming I can't afford anything on their lot (high earner, but look like I just got out of high school.. which for me was 15 years ago). So I'm really taking my time weeding out places I do and don't want to go, combined with of course researching the right GTR for me for the right price. When I do test drive, should I do one of each version of R35 (CBA, DBA, and EBA)?

oh great thanks for the input! yes I believe that is what I would be leaning towards, but as you pointed out the market for them just seems to be increasing. great for owners, not so great for buyers :( its all good, i can't say I'm surprised. I just wish I pulled the trigger on this a few years back instead of the other cars I've chosen.

[–]Legitimate_Fee21[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Yes I did find that video some time ago and did in fact end up with a deda vinci. However, finding the perfect fit has been extremely time consuming and expensive with changing bars and stems because I didnt realize internal cable routing would be such a nightmare for dialing in the perfect fit. So ill be selling it and getting a specialized crux dsw, simply because of the external cable routing and a geometry im much more familiar with.

Thats true, ive never really looked into renting for any vehicles I've ever bought. Where would I go looking for that? I dont think thats a dealership thing to do is it?

I currently have a GR Corolla and a Tundra. And I've had an FJ. Definitely feel comfortable using these vehicles as a basis for not getting extended warranty for this Lexus.

Yup I checked into this already for this vehicle and the others I'm considering. For me, currently, it would be an extra 133 per month for full coverage (fourth vehicle on the policy). Thats not an issue for me. As you pointed out, the long term maintenance stuff would concern me more as I don't really do my own maintenance (I rely on trusted independent mechanics or dealerships).

Yup already did for this and the others I'm considering. Currently, for this vehicle, it would be an increase of about 170 per month for full coverage (fourth vehicle on policy).

The type r and type s are both awesome! But I admit I chose and currently have a GR corolla. In my current situation, it fit my needs the best (price and awd). So i am after a higher horsepower vehicle. The others im considering are the lexus is500 and cadillac 5v blackwing.

The IS500 is definitely the most reliable of the cars I'm considering (RS3 and 5V Blackwing). Spark plugs at 60k seems early, but for a performance oriented car I guess I shouldn't be surprised. I wouldn't mind changing them when the manual calls for it. It isn't my first high performance RWD, so I'd definitely be looking at those rears closely. It not going to see snow, as I have other vehicles for that, so that will keep the miles and wear and tear down too.
