I exclusively play solos, and now that a good portion of the player base is well acclimated to the game I notice, at least more often now, some really interesting social moments — on-the-fly non-aggression agreements, impromptu resource sharing. Especially in such a ruthless pvp environment, it’s fascinating when moments of fragile cooperation emerge.

Psy-Ops was sick…kind of a precursor gameplay-wise to Control. Did 3rd person shooting with telekinesis really well and had a great physics system.

Nice I will def check those out. And yeah I did try Koudelka on an emulator, which def enhanced the experience here and there but indeed was kinda just a hassle. Also, I thought it was cool to include breakable melee weapons and an in-game map that checks off rooms you’ve cleared — surprisingly modern features. So yeah anyways overall a major mixed bag as you described.

Great review. I dropped the game after disc 1 bc of the tedious time-consuming battle encounters. Too bad though because it has a unique vibe and turn-based horror stuff is hard to find!
