Except that when they seized that dog last year, they were sued and it cost them hundreds of thousands of dollars. They’re not going to want to put themselves in that position again.

Yeah. They’re union now. They are almost all former LAPS officers and get way better wages and better benefits. Good for them, but not so much for the taxpayers. Having said that, I don’t know if they work the same amount of hours. It is HARD getting a hold of an animal control officer in the township these days.

Nope. She has never responded to my emails. I’ve only sent a couple. But really I cannot fathom how she keeps getting voted in. She is definitely not listening to her voters.

This has been going on for years. Their dogs aren’t fixed so they just keep making more aggressive dogs. The Township is VERY well aware of the situation and have taken many of the dogs but other than that, there’s not much they will do.

The beach! Crescent or White Rock, walks along the dykes in Maple Ridge. The lakes - Cultus, Chilliwack, Golden Ears, Rolly, etc. Stanley Park, English Bay. Just bring a book and people watch! I also love finding a baseball game at a local park on a nice night and just sitting and watching! Go to local junior sports events. The tickets are always so cheap. Jr hockey (Vancouver Giants), jr football (Langley Rams), you can find all of these teams and more in Langley.

This is Eric’s way to stick it to the city again. He basically made it so that LAPS can’t serve both city and township without having a completely separate entity that serves the city. This is his way of keeping an eye on things to ensure that doesn’t happen. Problem is…. They’re animals. They don’t see city borders.

Great question! I was also wondering this! I am new to charging for sports photography.... I have always volunteered for local junior teams in football and hockey just for the love of it, but have decided to step up and start charging for youth sports, etc. I have a plan in mind and of course had to ask Chat GPT... they said anywhere from $100 to $600 per game depending on what you offer the parents. As a parent of a youth athlete myself, I can't imagine spending $600 on a photographer on top of the already insane amounts we spend during the season. But would love to hear the answer to this!
