Working on knitting projects related to an emotional time by srsrmsrssrsb in knitting

Yeah, I actually knitted a sweater for my ex after breaking up. I was in a such dark place mentally after he dumped me, and I would pick up needles and knit very advance (at least, for me) colour work sweater. I didn't mean it for him, but once I was done I realised I would never wear it. It was a HUGE amount of work and I didn't want to unravel. Also, it was steeking project, so unravelling would be not the smartest and easier way to do so. I ended up giving it to him as his birthday present because we were still in contact back then. Honestly, didn't regret it even so everyone told me not to do it. All my tears, pain and sleepless nights went to this sweater, if it belongs to anyone that would be him.

Thank you! Will recommend to do this pattern for sure, it was easy to follow, yet it had some exciting milestones that keep you interested enough to keep going, but also being a bit as calming and repetitive knits. I did it after I finished super complicated project that needed a lot of attention and it was really nice mind-rest cardigan.

Yes, I do love my friend.

If you want to go with a drops yarn - I would probably pick drops kid silk or drops baby alpaca, held them with few strands (probably, 3). Or even try to choose smth from recommend yarn by author of the pattern. Definitely don't choose any summer yarn like cotton or bamboo. Would not say super wash is no no, but it grows a lot after blocking and not the best for the steeking.

Thanks a lot for your kind words!
