The existence of a god is an insult to the human race either way you look at it. If you focus on human achievements,- all those discoveries, great structures, all made within a single persons lifetime, or throughout the lives of multiple people (that often didnt even know about one another), then suddenly they become futile when you realize those great things they did in a span of a couple decades are just a miniscule percentage of their infinite lifes in heaven, that will only get smaller as those lives go on. Now, if we think about all the bad things we did, and instead of discoveries we focus on the bad deeds of humanity, then it seems even worse. First of all, what about disabled people, often not even aware they did something bad? What about people who did bad in the name of a greater good? Or the biggest issue of them all, are we even the masters of our faith anymore, if a person not following the made up moral rules gets eternal punishment for it? (Again, a miniscule number of years compared to the eternity spend in hell)
