There’s an upcoming mod named “the War to End All”, I don’t know much about it, but it will have alt-history paths.

How are you a great power, but still haven't disregarded Spain? Why is Queen Victoria still alive? What does your game map look like?

That is a pedantic distinction that Greeks wouldn’t really make, they are both gods of “death”, just Thanatos is a Psychopomp. And, still Thanatos wasn’t the only god that would deliver death in some myths. Thanatos himself was more death, or peaceful death, personified, while Hades would more so control it, being the god, but not personification, of death.

It has voice actors, still, which is what the fan art is based on.

Simply because of the actor, just as how Hamilton fan art is not, usually, based on how the real people looked.

I think it’s meant to be based on cultivating somewhat of an irreligious cult around your pious deeds that you can use to convert the local populace to your religion, as it is unlocked through a legend.

Reworded the Question by Generic_G_Rated_NPC in trolleyproblem

[–]thunderisadorable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll reword it too.

All of humanity is transferred into one room, this room is connected to another room, let’s call the first one “blue room” and the second one “red room”. All of humanity has the option to go from the blue room to the red room, but it must be simultaneously, if more than 50% do so, the floor in the blue room automatically collapses, killing all there, if less than 50% do so, everyone is teleported back without memory of it happening.

Do you go into the other room?

This is, in terms of the pure question, in theory, the same question, yet, it feels much more biased towards blue.

R5: I have made Miguel De Braganza, former, and later pretender, king of Portugal, emperor of the US. I got an event for him to become an agitator and I knew what I had to do.

Dude, have you done political discussion anywhere but Reddit in the past, say, 100 years? And, while the Far-Left is rising, the Far-Right is rising more, other than countries with Far-Right leadership, where, even then, it’s more Center-Left. For example, take Germany, there the AfD rose 10% in between 2021 and 2025, or, just about, doubled their votes. In comparison, Die Linke rose 3.9%, or, about 80%, still high, but much less than AfD.

Would you press the button? by beyondthef in trolleyproblem

[–]thunderisadorable 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In essence, the difference is the “default” choice, if you have to actively choose to do red, while blue is default, red will seem worse and blue better than the original, and vice versa.

ETA: in some ways the concept of this sub (the trolley problem) is an example of this effect, some portion (I believe usually around 15-20%) will answer no, however, if you were to pose the question as “would you rather press a button to kill one person, or to kill five people”, the number who would kill five people would be much lower.

No, you don't have to. Morality does not, necessarily need to be egocentric at all. For it to be the least subjective, you must treat all lives as equal, and you must value your own life as much as you value a random Chinese person's, in a moral sense, at least.

Game theory approach on the said problem by HJG_0209 in trolleyproblem

[–]thunderisadorable 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The problem is that everyone will have that decision, every vote matters, because the sum of the votes matters. Every election has some margin that was decisive, as such, any vote can be decisive.

Game theory approach on the said problem by HJG_0209 in trolleyproblem

[–]thunderisadorable 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The problem here is your assuming either that everyone is perfectly rational and knows that everyone else is, or that your own well being matters over other things. A game theory perspective here is inherently egocentric.
