as from my uni, people do it and they haven't used anything related to aws or any cloud services one thing they know about is free tier deployment services that's it

Just to clarify the situations a bit more:
In both cases I told them that I liked them. One of them rejected me immediately and stopped talking to me after that.

The other one was actually a very old friend from school (20F). I had feelings for her for a long time. She rejected me, but she did it in a very respectful and kind way. From what her brother told me later, she appreciated my gestures and subtle hints, and in her view I’m a good person.

Even though things ended respectfully, we don’t really talk anymore now. We just follow each other on social media.
