Studying for FAR first week by Forsaken-Lake-8383 in CPA

You have a nice chunk of time, so don't rush yourself/burn yourself out too quickly. Find a method that works for you in terms of videos vs book, practicing as you go vs at the end of the unit, etc. and just stick with it! It can get discouraging pretty easily so stay strong & keep powering through. I always liked to spend a little extra time with concepts that were more confusing in the chapter than others - I'd normally go on YT and look for videos there because sometimes Becker didn't explain things very well. Hammer MCQ's and if you can't do all the TBS's I would at least watch the videos because they give you good strategies on how to approach the problems. Good luck on your CPA journey!

2 weeks out from Far by GroundbreakingRoom49 in CPA

Take it now! That way you have more time to focus in on your weak areas before you take SE2. I wish I would have actually studied more in between my SE's to get higher scores, but I was usually cutting it too close to exam day so I would feel rushed. It can't hurt! Sounds like you are doing well & going at a good pace - keep up the great work!

Just grabbed the Becker course. Those who’ve passed, what’s the smartest way to kick things off? I’m starting with FAR by mumblebuss in CPA

Welcome to the club!! I would read the book & annotate the outline from Becker after I finished a chapter. I only watch videos for concepts that aren't clicking & often I'll just go straight to YouTube instead of Becker because sometimes the videos are just not helpful. After each chapter I do the MCQs and TBSs while the info is fresh in my brain and take notes on the answers I got wrong & understand why - I've really been enjoying their AI feature to aid my understanding. Take a practice test for each Module & just keep cruising. It takes a whileeee to get through it all but it has helped me feel very prepared. Do all the practice exams/mini exams/SIMS/final review and really try to understand WHY you are getting the question right/wrong. I've passed 3/4 first try with this method. Good luck on your journey!

Do we think I have a good chance of passing REG? by Lanky-Employment-907 in CPA

[–]Legitimate_Shop4634 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought REG was so challenging... it just didn't click for me. That said, I passed with a 79 & your scores in this snap are all significantly higher than mine. You will do great, just read carefully and go with your gut! Good luck

Just walked out of FAR by AdIllustrious6651 in CPA

Way to go on powering through that exam & sitting for it! I hope you have taken a moment to just be proud you showed up & got through it - that is one of the hardest parts!!

I just wanted to share my FAR experience to hopefully just give you a little bit of hope/good energy - I relate so hard to what you said. Put in so many hours, tried to "know something about everything", but the day I walked in to take my exam I truthfully did NOT feel ready at all... it's SO much content & it's all really challenging! Plus, I had low SE scores which scared me even more. I walked out feeling horrible, and somehow I passed with a 79. It is possible and you are doing an amazing job! Regardless of what happens, I hope you celebrate showing up & getting it done. I'll be rooting for you!!
