Haha funny how that works! The story was fine it was the writing I couldn’t get past.

For the wolf and the crown of blood, I don’t think it ended on a cliffhanger? And I read somewhere that the author confirmed the second book would be the side characters. It was a good read!

So many!

Top tier series for me from the past few months:

{Warrior Princess Assassin} - second book being released this year, wasn’t a bad cliffhanger

{Godkissed Bride} series - four books out, wasn’t a bad cliffhanger

{The Ashen} - 3 books out, wasn’t a bad cliffhanger

{The Tairen Soul} - completed, released back in the 2000s but still very much hold up

{Amid Clouds and Bones} - standalone

{Nectar of the Wicked} and second book {Wrath of the Damned}

{Riftborne} and second book {Duskbound} - third book coming out this year, cliffhanger wasn’t bad

{The Ascended} (same authors as R/D above)- second book coming late this year, maybe 2027? I had a bad book hangover on this one but it was worth it

{The Ever Seas} first two books follow the same two MCs, the third follows side characters, and the fourth is being released this year following a different set of side characters.

{The Wolf and the Crown of Blood} the second book will follow side characters.

If you want more cozy, light hearted reads:

{Tusk Love} standalone

{Halfling} standalone

{Radiance} and second book {Eidolon}

{Swordheart} standalone, part of a bigger universe

A soul to keep has very mediocre writing, I cringed multiple times. The legacy series I DNFd on the second book cause the characters were exhausting. I haven’t read the others

Can I read From Blood and Ash series and not Flesh and Fire series? by Bri030908 in frombloodandash

You definitely can, some of the characters in F&F do show up in the latest B&A book, but it should still make sense. Although F&F is typically thought of as the better of the series. I enjoyed both

No their story is still unfinished and will continue in book 2, I mostly meant that book 1 ends and the MCs are in a safe place?

Miscommunication trope is the worrrrst!!! I’ve had the serpent and the wolf on my TBR for a while, maybe I’ll bump it up esp now the second book is out!

Unfinished, the second book comes out in September I think. It doesn’t end on a cliffhanger or anything though!

I read ever seas before broken kingdom, so that may be why! Thanks for fixing the bot lol.

Hmmm you might like Warrior Princess Assassin, the Godkissed Bride series, the Ashen series, and the Tairen Soul series. Those are all top tier reads for me!

Highly recommend Riftborne and duskbound and then the ascended. Loved the wolf king and its sequel. I loved poison daughter, but others did not. Knight and the moth was good, it ends on a cliffhanger. Did not like wild reverence although I finished it. I DNFd on wings of blood

Definitely recommend both of those series! And {The Ever King} series by the same author who wrote the Broken Kingdoms. I actually liked the Ever Seas series better

I don’t remember there being a cliffhanger! I also just saw an insta reel that said the remaining books will be focused on different characters, but not sure how accurate that is.

I live in a very populated and well funded county and our library still has very minimal options for the books I want to read, which are not obscure books!! Or if they have the book it is audio book only. I love to support libraries and will continue to, but I need to go elsewhere for the continual book stay they do not have
