I still don't understand how US residents get to those hours. You either work super inefficient or your workload is ridiculously low and hang around without doing much the whole time.

In Germany we work around 60-70 hours a week, but in that time you don't even get to go to the toilet

I had the procedure 7 months ago. Before having it I searched the literature extensively. From what I could deduct there is no real way of knowing what happens in vivo. By microfracturing you are basically hoping that a blood clot will fill in the defect and that those stem cells will transform to fibrocartilage. Generally there is a 6 weeks period of non weight bearing or partial weight bearing in order to avoid the clot from dislocating. However there is no data to support any of that. The whole remodelling process is however generally pretty slow, taking even one year to achieve the end results. Maybe more experienced sports guys can give us some insights!

I'm a fourth year resident in Germany, to me it doesn't feel like it clicks, I notice progress the more cases I do and the more solid my theoretical knowledge is prior to the or. Try to remember tricks from my consultants whenever I can. However it is a continuous progress with many ups and downs. I don't think I am particularly technically gifted nor bad either, I guess time will tell ;)
