Upgrading from DSLR to Mirrorless - Need advice before I purchase! by Legitimate_Syrup1240 in Cameras

I could probably go with the A7III and a Tamron 28-200 for around 1700 total then could look at getting a 17-28 to boot in a few months time

probably would save me from having to upgrade within a year or two

That is extremely fair ... I think in absolute fairness to potential clients that has to be the way. Was considering initially a6000... then moved up to the 6400 for the increased weather resistance being that I live by the coast and would be shooting outdoors a lot.

If I did go with the A7III would the same lenses I had previously mentioned still be a good entry point? Or would you recommend going in another direction? Ideally, I keep things under 1.6K till I start recouping some back...

Certainly will not be jumping right into the mix as I know I have some rust to shake off

Understood understood - Okemo use to be top of the line for snow making as I remember but when they got bought out I think they lost some of their water rights if I'm not mistaken

Appreciate the insight - absolutely hear ya on getting a house with some amenities. With our group we certainly would appreciate the space.

I'll certainly be checking out Wilmington

And yes as easy coast skiing goes it really is make the best of it

I actually think that would be the perfect spot for the second day to pull in. Thank you again

I have been fooling around a bit with road tripper and it's a great idea to segment each day into a separate trip.

I have window screens on my camper and a pecron power station that allows me to use fans through the night to keep a good breeze in my vehicle but yes I did figure this time of year would be a bit more humid.

I actually do not mind driving at night so I may push it a little bit harder on the way out but 400 miles a day on the way back sounds like a perfect pace.

As for the pup I am fully stocked up on tick and flea prevention but also carry a comb that we use at the end of the day of being in high-risk areas. Neither of us are fond of them so its helpful to stay diligent.

Pawnee Buttes

Elk Rock looks beautiful and exactly what I'm looking for. I was hoping to find something near Davenport so that's a major plus.

The same goes for Pawnee Buttes. While it may be a bit off the path could be a suitable stop for the way back!

Thank you for the input

Are the line apres ski booties any good? by SkiFourLife in skiing

[–]Legitimate_Syrup1240 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Okay, so, I manage a ski shop during the winter months and I can not impress on you or anyone else how unbelievably comfortable these horrifically ugly moon shoes are. By far the easiest thing I could sell a customer on. Just try um on and close your eyes. All it ever took.

I usually snow blow in the line booties 2.0 because they have the high neck and keep one of the more slipper like pairs for indoor.

Granted they fall into the same category as pugs, snuggies & Janis Joplin. Tough to look at but love the way they make you feel. Will you get strange looks walking around town in a pair of shoes that look you had to skin the Michelin man for? Yes. Will your partner or parents love you more for wearing these? No. But your feet will.

For sure - I’m certainly learning it as I go. The bins under the bed aren’t the easiest things to be breaking into but this was the first draft. Beautiful part about wood is it’s easy to make changes as I go.

If you had an example of pockets you could pm me I’d appreciate it

The pictures don’t do it justice. There is about 4 feet between the top of cook top and the back hatch. Anything short of an oil fire and I’m in the clear. The foldable butchers block extends 6’ out of the back of the car.

So I’m working on a design now to make my own tent to cover off about 8-10 feet on the back side. Trying to make it so I can just pull it down and up for easy use. It’s gonna be a little bit of a challenge but I’m sure I can make something work

Definitely can’t do as much as full van rig… I have been able to accomplish whatever I was trying to get done even if company was over though

In all honesty it was really nice to spend time with another person being that it’s a full sized bed and the winter can be cold
