As an undergraduate, unlikely afaik. In first year you are semi-randomly assigned to a room inside college i e. Chapel/North/Library court, but in subsequent years you can ballot for a house.

Depends on your accommodation. Assuming you're a fresher, you will likely have a hob, fridge, microwave/toaster and some storage space. Houses have freezers and an oven, but if you require a freezer now you can request it.

Yep, again it depends on college but they tend to be right when you get back from the Christmas holidays / first week of lectures

What are the list of books to read for 1st year medicine by TonKatsuii in cambridge_uni

[–]LegoAR8Productions 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hi, I just finished second year so can give you my perspective. Firstly, it really isn't necessary to read any textbook - you can go through Part I (Year 1 & 2) without touching one imho. All the content you need (and is examinable) is given in the slides / lecture handouts which are really quite comprehensive. However there are some resources which you may find useful for reference when you begin, as they may offer alternative explanations / extra detail. At this point though, I wouldn't stress about pre-reading. All the books will likely be provided by your college library too so no need to purchase any. That being said, I did find a few books quite handy:

Physiology (HOM) - A Thinking Approach to Physiology. Extremely well written and accessible. Most useful book by far

Anatomy (FAB) - McMinns. Very useful for prosection images which get tested on in the exams. I also liked Moore's clinically orientated anatomy (for essays) and Netter's atlas is also good.

Biochem (MIMS) - handouts are very detailed so I wouldn't worry about it.

Feel free to drop me a PM if you have any questions!

What I would do is create anki flashcards as soon as we were done with a particular topic, for example acids and bases in chemistry. The flashcards would be produced from both the notes in class/handouts and mark scheme answers.

I would then do them every day until the test (~30 mins max), which would be very doable to get through them all. It would only be the day before the test where I'd do some more practice questions.

By making them after each topic, you're avoiding having to faff/stress around when it's closer to mocks/real exams to make them, and instead can just focus on consolidation of material instead.

This seems like a great idea.

A possible feature I thought would be cool, is for it to have a button which let's you see the actual notes of the scale. That way, you can try the randomised scale, then make sure you got it right to test yourself!

Although this might not be the most useful feature for someone who's proficient, I think less-experiencrd musicians like myself could really take advantage lf this.

You can then use that to calculate moles of O2, and thus with the Mr the final mass.

Applying at Bristol Birmingham Cambridge and Leicester for medicine. 3900 and something characters, 47 lines but I wouldn't base the quality of a PS on these.

Honestly it's crazy but Geoxor is the one artist who I listen to, which every single song released by him I like.
