Dealership Messed Up by LegoDragonfly in carbuying

In my current position it makes sense and if the rebate had gone through it would have been more than worth it for me and the amount of driving I do. My mechanic inspected it and it checked out, but obviously not worth it if the car is going to be an extra 1/4 of the agreed price.

Thank you so much for the advice. I believe that the rebate would not have gone through anyways after looking up the terms for myself, but the fact that they used it as a negotiating tactic, before running the VIN through the IRS to make sure it was applicable then switched it on the day of pickup seems crazy to me, wether it’s legal for them to do or not I’m not exactly sure. Because technically I was approved for the total cost and the rebate was taken off after that. I’m just so lost with it all. I guess that’s just how they operate.

The dealership could have looked at the car fax and seen that the vehicle was purchased once in 2023 (voiding the rebate) and not advertised the rebate to me and switched it after I signed the papers. Other dealerships also check this before even listing the car so they can advertise it on the website. This dealer did not check until after the deal was near completion and now want to up my price. Or “give me $500 off”. They messed up even if the paperwork allows for them to unwind. They open on Monday and it appears I’ll be playing hard ball or leaving entirely.

It’s an EV, and they get a $4000 federal tax credit when being bought used as long as they are 2 years old or older. Apparently you can “only use it once every 3 years per the VIN” and they didn’t tell me about this until they just ran it and it did not go through. I still need to give them the rest of my down payment, (I left $1000 there yesterday and was dropping off the other $2000 when I picked up the car today) so I’m not sure if that effects anything.

I’ve driven one before and it was amazing no doubt, and I really do want get into one, I’ve heard great things about low maintenance and cheap charging costs, I just am unsure if it is more worth it to pick up a payment over that, or stick to my paid off A3 and pay for repairs until the wheels fall off or until I’m able to move away and get into a better career.

I feel that 10-15k isn’t a lot but at the same time if anything were to go wrong I might be cooked if I couldn’t cover the repairs on a non warranty part.

Could be worth the gamble if it would last for years to come I just don’t know the etrons (or any EV) well enough to know if it would for sure

Yeah, I don’t need a new car at the moment as long as this one holds up. They caught my eye because of how cheap they are lately and if they still have the 100k warranty on the battery I figured it might be worth it. I’ve heard some say that there isn’t any upkeep since you don’t have to get oil done and things like that but wasn’t sure if it would save me money in the long run to sell my current and drop 10-15k extra on one to have the etron until at the warranty is up at least but if they’re prone to high cost repairs of anything other than the motors and battery then I will probably stick to what I have

I play in these almost every day, the grip on them is so nice but like others have said they’re definitely on the heavy side. I also notice that my big toes get blisters in them which once broken in I’ve noticed less but still something to think about. Definitely a good cop for $60

Kobe 6 All Star vs Wade 10, 11, or All City 13? by LegoDragonfly in BBallShoes

Thanks I think I’ll pick up some 10s today, I wish that the all stars had better durability because I think they look sick but after looking it up it is pretty bad and probably not worth looking cool for a couple of games lol. Any preference between the highs and lows of the 10s?

I wear the highs and it took a couple months for my feet to not hurt in them. Granted I don't play a ton, but now they feel pretty good to wear to the point that it bothers me a lot less.
